One of the most important studies on the psyche of our children. Clear analysis, straight and comparative along with a variety of ideas on how to raise Black children to become prodcutive additions to our African Nation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black Children..., January 15, 2006
By
GregD "Greg" (Atlanta, GA USA) - See all my reviews
As Dr. Wilson correctly observed, "In an oppressive society, the social institutions, of which the family is part and parcel, actually work against the oppressed." That said, one must recognize that the oppressed mustn't employ the same methods as the oppressor for building strong families and rearing productive children. In the Developmental Psychology of the Black Child, Dr. Wilson skillfully provides Black parents with the tools needed to produce the type of children needed for further the race.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Thorough, November 28, 2006
This review is from: Developmental Psychology of the Black Child (Paperback)
This book is very thorough... It embraces ideals that we, as a people, hold dear and yet it is grounded in truth... the reality of our circumstances. I would definitely recommend this book to all who have dealt, are dealing and will be dealing with "the black child."
