John B. Herbich, Ph.D., P.E., is W.H. Bauer Professor Emeritus of Civil and Ocean Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He is a Fellow and Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and consults extensively for industries and governments on coastal developments and uses.
