This is a moderately entertaining story of the days of fighting sail, but there are better books out there that you should read first. This one has too little actual naval action, and too many coincidental events driving the story. The hero gets one bad break after another, usually followed by an equally unlikely escape.

After reading the first book (Matthews prize) could not wait for the second book to come out, simillar in content to some of the Wilbur Smith ocean going adventures, only on the other side of the atlantic. All in all a good follow on
