5.0 out of 5 stars A riveting romantic thriller, November 4, 2007
This review is from: The Devil's Dance (Paperback)
A riveting romantic thriller, "The Devil's Dance" by novelist Patti Ann Bengen is the story of Marissa Harrington who's decision not to marry her deceitful fiancee and subsequent trip down to the Caribbean for a little R&R finds herself abruptly plunged into a world of drug deals, conspiracies, tripple crosses, and even murder. It seems a little unfair that she just may have finally discovered 'Mr. Right' but not live long enough to know for certain. A superbly crafted suspense novel of almost unrelenting action, "The Devil's Dance" is exceptionally well written from beginning to end. Very highly recommended reading, Attention Hollywood -- "The Devil's Dance" is the stuff from which block-buster movies are made!

5.0 out of 5 stars Danger in the Tulip Fields and Devil's Dance, January 25, 2011

This review is from: The Devil's Dance (Kindle Edition)
This book was FABULOUS! I am an avid mystery reader (up to 2 books a week) and I've got to say that Danger in the Tulip Fields is one of my all time favorites. Not only was the story itself compelling, but I found I became very wrapped up in what was happening in the area in which the story took place and wondered how much of that REALLY happens there. I highly recommend this book to everybody who likes the mysteries. I loved Devil's Dance even MORE. Devil's Dance grabbed me by my emotions and I could feel the fear, the pain, the happiness and the doubts that the characters all experienced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Destiny of Danger, October 12, 2010

Whoah! Hold on to your seat! This is a most impressive book. I have read all of Patti Ann Bengen's books and after reading this one, I can say, I am a believer! You can't read a better story line than this one. I love romance, adventure, strong female characters, and travel to foreign lands, and this book captures your imagination so vividly that I had to assure myself that this wasn't actually happening to me during my three day reading of The Devil's Dance. The ending was so hopeful for those of us who never want to see a great romance end. Now I'm wondering about Marissa's future, as if she were a real person that I read about in the news.
I can't wait to read Ms. Bengen's next novel!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Makings of a Movie!, February 10, 2010

This review is from: The Devil's Dance (Paperback)
This novel was captivating and compelling. I couldn't put it down. At first, I thought the main character, Marissa Harrington, was a bit naive. But it was this very characteristic of hers that set the stage for this romantic thriller. Marissa needs to think about where her life is going. Her boyfriend, Matthew Marconi, proposes to her with a three-carat diamond ring, and she should be happy. But, in a bold display of courage, she decides to take a trip by herself to think about the proposal and her life. (This trip to Puerto Rico was planned with her girlfriend prior to the proposal, but at the last minute, her girlfriend reneges on the trip. She decides to press forward and go it alone, thinking of it as an adventure.) Soon after she arrives in Puerto Rico, Marissa meets a handsome stranger, and her adventure begins. Unsuspecting, she just follows her heart and soon becomes entangled in a web of intrique and the dark side of her handsome stranger's life. Marissa enters a world of danger and murder but, through it all, finds a courage she did not have before. "The Devil's Dance" chronicles a forbidden world of unrelenting sensuality, drugs and cartels and has the makings of a great and entertaining film. Ms. Bengen should start writing the screenplay! Hitchcock would have been happy to direct this movie.
