3.0 out of 5 stars "Watch Lucifer watch! This is for you!", September 20, 2005
This review is from: Devil's Daughter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Co-written by Dario Argento and directed by Michele Soavi, the man behind the brilliant CEMETERY MAN, THE DEVIL'S DAUGHTER is kinda like ROSEMARY'S BABY except that there is no sense of doom, it's set in the country and the woman is not made love to by a big demon, but instead a large pelican-buzzard looking bird that eats worms out of the gaping hole on the woman's neck...but I'm getting ahead of myself.

A satanic cult is going around killing people in some cool scenes at the beginning then some old codger stands out in the middle of the road and a woman nearly hits him. Without a second thought she takes the man to her house where as soon as she falls asleep he implants an icky looking bug in her nose! Oh I'm gonna faint. The bug does some freaky stuff inside her and a killer handkerchief starts running around possessing people or something. People die and the satanic cult sets up shop in the girl's basement, tears some broad's face off, chases people around, explosions, a rabbit bites a guy and I fell asleep.

Made between the time Soavi made the entertaining THE CHURCH and a few years before CEMETERY MAN this movie has it moments, but it never really caught my attention. If you're into the European horror stuff then you should check it out.
