More About the Author

David Chacko has written nineteen novels. Many are in the espionage and mystery genres with occasional outbreaks into common sense. He can usually be found in Istanbul or New York. The consistent factor here is that both places have good food, beautiful women, and memorable views of the sea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspector Levent is on the case, March 10, 2009

This review is from: Devil's Feathers (Paperback)
In his 16 previously published novels, David Chacko has established himself as a polished writer, a true word smith, and a master of the detective genre. His intimate knowledge of the peoples, languages, and landscapes of the region show through as brightly as the blue of the Aegean waters. Follow this page-turner through the eyes of Istanbul's Inspector Levent, also a master of his craft and a person of depth, as he unravels a complex tale of murder and revenge. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars DEATH BY THE PAST, February 1, 2009
This review is from: Devil's Feathers (Paperback)
Devil's Feather's is a fine mystery that draws on the past like a deep well, giving the book a strong story line, an accelerating plot and a fiery ending. Set on the Aegean Coast of Turkey, it takes full advantage of the beauty of the place to tell a haunting tale. Don't miss it!

4.0 out of 5 stars fast-paced and entertaining, but well written enough to be far from a guilty pleasure, June 9, 2009

This review is from: Devil's Feathers (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. It is fast-paced and entertaining, but well written enough to be far from a guilty pleasure. I can see this ending up on PBS' Masterpiece Mystery someday.
I was also excited to find out that there are other stories about Onur Levent, as his character was by far the most interesting part of the story. The plot may or may not be somewhat predictable, I for one was more interested in Levent's process.
So while this book is not life changing, it is perfect summer reading for the reader who is bored with chick lit and typical mystery novels. I will definitely read Chacko again.
