Great, exiting read,
By
This review is from: The Devil's Heart (Paperback)
The Devil's Heart is an excellent sequel to The Devil's Kiss. For those who like this book, I reccommend purchasing part three, The Devil's Touch, and a conclusion to the Devil's series, The Devil's Cat. It's only too bad William Johnstone no longer writes horror.

William W. Johnstone is at his best. This book takes you through Trials and Errors. You have love here, Hate there. Peace here, War there. It's just hard to explain the effort that Mr. Johnstone put into this book that makes it one of my best novels yet!!!!!! Continue with more, Mr. Johnstone!!!!

The further adventures of Sam Balon... or at least his son!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Devil's Heart (Paperback)
The Devil's Heart introduces Sam Balon's son, who becomes the next in line to fight the hordes of Satan worshippers. Toss in a coven, gratuitous sex scenes, monsters, and lots of gunplay, and you have Johnstone's standard formula wrapped up in a neat bow. This novel is better written than the previous novel, THE DEVIL'S KISS.

Let's see, it has pedophilia, almost nothing BUT pedophilia, but few victims under age 5 or 6, if I recall. It has unspeakable physical torture in extreme, prolonged detail, but again, nobody as young as age 3 that I noticed, and uh, it has, oh yeah (!) virgins (children) nailed to crosses upside down and skinned alive, with their screams to God s-p-e-l-l-e-d out, on and on, and yippee, God ignores these children's screams and lets them take forever to finally die of agony while being raped and sodomized over and over by adults, all presented in lingering snuff-porn detail.
So uh, yeah, this book has it all. So you people like it, huh? It's published by Kensington, for anyone who'd care to boycott. This kind of story is illegal nowadays, could never be published, even by Zebra and Pinnacle. It's pornography for the sado-sexual murderer, people. Anyone who "liked it" should probably at least pretend not to. Oh, I forgot on more cool thing it has! The hero and heroine, who fall in love and have sex, are brother and sister, and they know it! Oh yeah, and the hero makes her shut up her hysterical whining by backhanding her across the face, twice in swift, picturesque succession, bloodying her mouth and knocking her down--and it is presented as heroic behavior, studly and exciting, and worth emulating if you're a guy and want to be a hero too. It's practically a learning manual for the Real Man. How I happened to read this book was, I like horror novels and horror movies, and I found it in the bedroom of my 15-year-old daughter, and borrowed it.

This book is great.. it imparts just enough of the story from the devils kiss to keep you up to date while giving you a wonderful current story and cast of characters that you can follow. It has love hate sin death and forgiveness all rolled into one. but sensitive readers beware this is not a book for anyone who cant tolerate alot of ... violence, and .... With what i might add is vulgar language.

GOD'S NEW EARTHBOUND WARRIOR,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Devil's Heart (Paperback)
this book continues right off from theTHE DEVIL'S KISS with some new twists and turns and shows you when your dead sometimes your not. Sam Balon Sr. returns to help his Son with the new wieght put on his shoulders and help his wife through hard times to come. What i found fasinating was the introduction of Michael, God's warrior and the conversations between God and Satan. This book will take you as far into Satan's covens as you will ever want to go. Plus how would you like to find out you are chossen to fight Satan and his followers? This book definently should be read.

This one was not as graphic as The Devil's Kiss was, however I still found it very good. William Johnstone has this thing with names that can be very confusing, but you get used to it. He likes to use the same names over and over again not to mention different names for the same person. A little frustrating. I actually liked the story line on this one a lot better. I think it had a little more meat to it. These books are more incidents, as my professor would say, then actual stories...at least to me they are. Everything happens in a matter of days with a set # of people in their day to day life...and a hell of a life they have...almost literally. Young Sam and Nydia's fated love I was not to fond of, but the twist and turn in the battle of good and evil are just as good in this one, if not better, as the first. All rules of the game are thrown out the window and that is always fun...to the reader anyway. This one I WILL recommend...very good. However you DO need to read the first one to read this one and that one I DON'T recommend...you will have to see my review on it to see why. Happy reading.
