5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most danceable bands anywhere., April 5, 1999

I have been a folk dancer for over 35 years and have danced to many very talented acoustic musicians. I have performed Scandinavian dance in Portland, Oregon for the past 9 years. Several years ago at a performance for a Finnish group, someone announced a concert that was coming up at a church in the St. Johns area of Portland. A dancing friend and I decided to go and we were treated to one of the best concerts I have ever attended. We were probably the only people in the hall who did not speak Finnish, but the power of the music did not need translation. The band was JPP and the music was absolutely stunning. This album continues the intense power that I experienced at that concert. I am especially fond of Konstan Valssi, with it's lightness and cheerful sound. The incredible drive and sensitivity of their music is found throughout. This album is a wonderful introduction to JPP for anyone who has never experienced their music. And it is a must have for anyone who knows them.
