I was skeptical about buying this product as I've had clotted cream before that was truly hideous, but this clotted cream was exceptional! I served it with scones and strawberry jam for our 'Royal Wedding' breakfast and the only complaint I have is that I didn't buy more than one jar. I'm from Britain and have found very difficult to find a good cream tea here in the US, but those days are behind me. Now I just need to get my hands on some of this stuff and I'm good to go!

I made scones for work as a surprise and took along the English Luxury Clotted Cream and strawberry preserves. People were licking their fingers and moaning like you would not believe. It was not a pretty sight :) The Luxury cream is excellent. People's table manners just went by the wayside. They could not eat them fast enough. At first I wouldn't tell them what the cream was until they tried it. After they tasted the cream I had to tell them to protect myself. LOL
Luxury Clotted Cream is wonderful and I will definitely be ordering more.

This was very good and arrived all the way to Alaska in July still cool. The packaging for shipping worked to keep it cold. And this stuff is great! Will do again.

This cream is delicious. My children love it on toast, but I think it tastes best on mince pies. The cream arrived fresh and well-packaged. The product ships fast and the seller is highly recommended. Will order again from this seller.

The description states that this tastes like a cross between ice cream+butter and I'd have to *mostly* agree, but this is a silkier, creamier taste experience all its own. When straight out of the refrigerator it does have a texture reported in other reviews sort of like very dense whipped butter. When I had this at a cafe in England it was served a little softer, just like how the sealed jar arrives (unrefrigerated) which is how I use it. Ooohhhh, does it make a croissant, scone, or waffle into an event to be remembered!

I'd say this is fairly true to taste of what I was served in England and for me that's close enough. I've tried making my own once and unless you (a); own a cow for the VERY best cream, (b); are willing to waste a lot of cream to get the curds to form, and (c); have oodles of time on your hands to tweak and get the desired result, it's just not very cost/time/taste effective to make from scratch.

Sometimes, depending on the vendor, I can get the overall cost down by ordering three jars and the one ship charge stays the same.

The bottle of Devonshire cream is as promised. It was separated in the bottle when I received it, as the weather is warm, but a little shaking and refrigeration combined it, and it is tasty. I'd never had this before, but had often thought about it. It tastes like thick, high fat content butter; how could you go wrong? It does make me wonder though what the heart disease rate is in England. Delivery was quick as promised, and they sent one jar until the other jars were available, which was thoughtful.

I was planning a menu for a book club party for The Forgotten Garden when I came across a character in the book that put cream on their jam-laden scone. This was new to me. I did research and found they were talking about clotted cream. There are many imitation recipes for this, but I was curious how an authentic clotted cream would taste. Wow! This was amazing. I made cream scones and topped them with the clotted cream and strawberry jam. I will be sure this clotted cream is in my refrigerator every time I make scones...I cannot imagine there is anything better.

As a Brit living in America I have really struggled to find some good clotted cream to go with my scones and jam.
I read some reviews on this saying it was very good but honestly I was a little disappointed.
While the taste was quite good it seemed to be more buttery than creamy.
I also wasn't sure where to store it - when you put it in the fridge it gets far too hard, like refrigerated butter, but if you leave it out it may cause it to spoil.
It works as a substitute and I have to take what I've got I guess, but it reminds me more of the hard buttery layer that you get on top of PROPER clotted cream rather than the cream itself!

I have tried 4 different brands imported from the UK and t his particular brand has the best consistency and flavor.
Today I used a wish list option from Amazon to notify me when this product is in stock. I've never done this before.

I never had clotted cream. The name sounds kind of gross but I knew it had to be good if it's so well used and known in the UK. And boy was I right! As one who grew up in the land of cheese (Wisconsin) I can tell you that it tasted like cream with the texture of a fine creamy butter. It dissolves in your mouth like ambrosia. Very nice. Unfortunately the price makes it something to get for special treats. I have not been able to find it in any stores in my area so I'd have to order it online. If you feel like splurging and have a really good treat to use this for, I highly recommend it!
