A powerful book that will change your life. Should be a must for all Catholics and a great way to understand man's relationship with Christ through our Blessed Lady. Reading in a group with a Cenacle Leader is the best way to explore St. de Monforts' Method of True Devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. The entire book should be read before making any judgement on the text-you'll want to reread it every time you finish!

By Joan's husband Mark: I too have read the writtings of St. Louis De Montfort, specifically True Devotion to Mary...several times, and continue to re-read sections on a daily basis. I gleen new insights, even revelations, not to mention a growing sense of devotion and new purpose in my life every time I read it. If God reveals His Mother to you, then this book is my most sincere recomendation for you as a place to start in your journey of conversion as well as a constant companion as you progress through the 'process'. (I prefer this version - True Devotion to Mary as it is identical to the version I first read published in 1941 by Tan Books and which is no longer in print)

But may I also make a second recommendation? Please do not overlook the writings of St. Maximilian Kolbe, specifically 'Immaculate Conception and the Holy Spirit'.

This is an essential tool for growth in Marian devotion. St Louis De Montfort was no doubt divinely inspired and we the readers, hundreds of years later, are ever so blessed to have this resource and continue to benefit from this helpful guide. An easy read and must have for any Catholic!

This is an excellant adn very deep book. Sometimes it takes reading the book several times to understand some of its meanings.

This book is a wonderful primer on devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is not at all an accident that the saintly Pope John Paul II incorporated Montfortian spirituality into his daily life and walk with God. The book includes motivations for this, techniques to reaffirm one's devotion to the blessed Virgin, and many and varied examples of the results of this devotion.

It is a great book, but I gave it four stars rather than five, because it is a short work, only about 200 pages or so in a small frame, and is not scholarly and often leads him to make unjustifiable claims. The use of reason is not a sin, and he sometimes does not fully incorporate the ways in which spirituality must make sense and be both practical and justifiable to be true. For instance, examples taken from Catholic history do not prove a claim; they merely illustrate a connection, not even in all cases a causation.

But this fault aside, it is a great introduction and also a masterpiece of Marian spirituality.

It has changed the way that I pray. What a gift and powerful devotion to Our Lady! Thank you St. Louis Montfort. Pray for us.

I found this version of True Devotion wanting to my taste. I prefer the more traditional translation which is also readily available by other publishers.
