Absolutely Astonishing,

My girlfriend writes for a school newspaper and she was asked by her boss to do a review on a new band. They gave her several cd's of different bands to listen to; she asked me for advice on to which of the bands she should review. We played the Gliss cd and we were instantly blown away by the album, I listened to it three times in a row.My girlfriend told her editor she would write her review on Gliss and the editor asked her if she would mind writting a concert review on them, they we're going to play here in St. Louis on April 14th. We went to see them last night at "The Firebird" and we were again amazed at how much energy was coming out of this Trio, and the immense talent flowing all over the stage. I can't remember the last time I saw a band rocking so hard that all three members were banging their heads, getting down on the floor with their eyes closed and IT LOOKED REAL. That's what Gliss reminded me of: Real, Pure Rock. If you like bands like The Silversun Pickups or Muse I strongly recommend you give this band a try, you won't be dissapointed.

Gliss has that tripped out organic reverb sound of the Raveonettes or The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. But they also have this slight shoegaze texture like Ride or Slowdive before they went totally ambient and trippy. One more additive is the hip groovy edge of The Jesus & Mary Chain that B.R.M.C. lost after their first album which was great.Gliss is bliss. Get there.

Maybe it's just my taste in music, but this sounded like so much other .... stuff. It didn't do anything for me - it just sounded like real common Pop that you could find just about everywhere. I don't know, maybe I'm too old - but it sounded like stuff a high school girl might sing along with - I'll be dumping my copy if you want to pick one up cheap. I didn't even keep it on my MP3 after I burned it. Just too common...

A fresh shoegaze band,
This review is from: Devotion Implosion (Audio CD)
Shoegaze has recently made a comeback and with it, a bunch of bands that sound the same - this is not one of them. The airy female led vocals are what carry Gliss past their contemporaries. It's a shame more people haven't heard this record because it's very enjoyable. Just preview a few of the tracks and then say no.

Fresh and great album in this season of re-view of shoegaze. With the excellent song ^Lovers In The bathroom^, noise in the fair point. Album for buy without dudes.
