Devotion was awarded the Bookseller's Best Award for Best Inspirational Novel of 2013 ~ Award sponsored by the Greater Detroit Chapter of the Romance Writers of America

Evans, creates a believable and relatable situation between a husband and wife who have naturally become comfortable in their marriage . . . and the consequences of allowing the temptation of new passion to burn brighter than the flames of true love. ~ ~Jen Stephens, author of The Heart's Journey Home and The Heart's Lullaby

Marianne Evans has written a touching story that will leave readers breathless. She has such a gift for the written word. ~ Mary Manners, Award winning author of Wisdom Tree, Tender Mercies, Light the Fire

Marianne Evans has crafted an outstanding, beautifully written and compelling tale of love, loss and second chances. Devotion opens a window to see what can happen when you become complacent in your marriage. Devotion is more than a story, it's life-changing. I highly recommend. ~ Sherry Kuhn, Reviewer, Love 2 Read Novels

Devotion is an important read. Those who have suffered the pain of infidelity may find encouragement and healing within its pages. For those who might flippantly think "I would never," this is a cautionary tale and should be considered a wake-up call to nurture their marriages. ~ Linda Attaway, The Wordsmith Journal Magazine

Marianne was a new author to me so when she offered to send me a copy of her book to review if liked it. I was thrilled.
Boy was I glad I said yes, this is a book about true love, and forgiveness. Something everyone should read. Of course I did cry, but I cheered as well.
If you want a glimpse of true love then this is your book. It will let you know that it is okay to rebuild what is broken and with the Lords help you will be better off for it.
I recommend this book.

A story that will have you looking deep in your heart. This story takes you on a journey that even if you aren't married you look at your own heart and in situations that you may feel you are comfortable in. Alot of times in life we go by with our days and think that everything is perfect and nothing could ever rock our solid ground. This story will take you on an emotional ride in the eyes of these characters and teach you many lessons about yourself. This book is for couples and even singles that want to take a look into their own life and see that everything is not always what we think and we can't always think our comfortable life is how it will be forever. Marianne this book is amazing. You captivated a true love story of forgivness, second chances, and loss. I felt like I was with these characters walking with them, crying with them, and wanting to reach out a hand or shoulder to cry one. This book will leave you all in awe and seeing what is true love..Praises Marianne on this story that I will remember for a lifetime. So if you are looking for a book that grabs at your heart, makes you think even about situations in your own life and a can't put down book this is the book for you! xoxo

WOW!!! Marianne Evans has crafted an outstanding, beautifully written and compelling tale of love, loss and second chances. Devotion opens a window to see what can happen when you become complacent in your marriage. It shows the effects of not listening to God's still small voice. It spells out clearly that sin does not just effect the one committing it. One verse that kept coming to mind while I was reading was Proverbs 23:7 'whatsoever a man thinks in his heart, so he is'. Don't entertain inappropriate thoughts! That's why the Bible is clear about guarding our hearts because out of it flows the issues of life. I absolutely LOVED this story for what it represented. It's a warning to those dancing too close to the flames of sinful thoughts and where it can lead but it's also a hope for those who have gotten burned by those flames. Betrayal is not an easy fix and I think the struggles we see Kellen and Juliet go through were accurately represented. Devotion is more than just a story, it's life-changing fiction and one I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! It's just what today's world needs to hear. Fantastic job Marianne!

A thank you goes to the author for providing this ARC for my review.

Devotion
By Marianne Evans

In this charming story "Devotion" by Marianne Evans, you will find out we never know how one will react to a situation until faced with it. Often times what we judge and feel about things is exactly where GOD wants to grow our character most.
This is a wonderful story about love and commitment and growing in the LORD and each other. Finding our place with each other and doing it in a way that brings honor to Him. The characters in this story make you want to pray along with them as they struggle to find these answers. They also make you want to take a closer look at yourself and what GOD might have for you. The advice they receive is advice we can all take to heart, becoming more devoted to each other and to GOD.
I enjoyed Devotion very much and look forward to reading many more of Marianne's books

Devotion is a lovely story about the power of hope and forgiveness. When Kellen Rossiter commits the mose grievous marriage sin--infidelity--his wife Juliet must find a way to forgive him...she is pregnant with his child. What happens during the course of the story is a series of heart-tugging scenes that grab attention and refuse to let go.

This is a story everyone who is mariied or who is even considering marriage should read. Five stars!!!

I'm caught up on books I'm obligated to review, so I was able to pick a book from my shelves and read it for leisure. As I tried to decide between Francine River's "Road to Haven" and Julie Klassen's "The Dancing Master," my eye caught on "Devotion" by Marianne Evans, a book I won in a giveaway this year. I decided to give it a shot.

Wow!

I was taken aback by how I was immediately captivated by the story. The writing quality was superb. Marianne Evans has an undeniable gift with words. I could see and feel and hear the action and dialogue on each page.

I LOVED the main characters' unique careers. Kellen's career as a talent agent was a new reading experience for me. It appears the author either knows or has researched the industry thoroughly.

This book centers around an act of infidelity that threatens to tear a marriage apart. A major point I appreciated about "Devotion" was how clean it was in spite of its tough subject matter. The author was able to get her point and the story across -- including Kellen's betrayal of Juliet -- without making me feel as if I were reading questionable material. Many Christian books dealing with the same types of situations aren't so discreet.

I totally recommend this book for married women; in addition to being a great read, it reminded me to appreciate and love my own awesome husband.

What I Thought Could Have Been Better:

I felt a shift in my level of captivation with the book nearing the center and on to the end. The conversations and thought processes began to feel repetitive. Though the content and spiritual truths brought out were good, I'M not good with stories that are mostly conversation and reflection. If the last half of the book had been like the first half, I would have definitely given this book a five, something I rarely do. :)
