I love the word of God and have perused almost every kind of bible I have been able to come in contact with. Saying that, this is the bible I choose to read daily. Not only do you get a little of everything Max Lucado has written, but the translation is easy to understand while being true to the Word. Highly recommended.

This Bible is a great resource. Through the studies in it, my understanding of the text has grown greatly. A fan of Max Lucado, the inspirational passages are not only interesting but help apply the text of the Bible in ways that make it more applicable and easier to understand.

The New Century Version is very similar to the New Living Translation. I find it very easy to read and understand. It also reads well if you want to read a "real bible" to your children. They will be able to understand this version much better than many others on the market. I don't like the "watered down versions" of the stories in many children's bibles. My son (2 years old) brings me this Bible and says, "Read me about Jesus, Mommy". He prefers this to his own Children's Bible.

I also highly recommend the "New Believer's Studies" in the back of the Bible. I didn't know this feature was there until I received it in the mail. Even though I grew up in a Christian household as a child, I've learned so much from these passages and Bible Studies. Consider using them as a source of spiritual growth.

The different studies in this Bible can keep even the most avid Bible readers busy for quite some time. It contains many additions that provoke not only contemplation but actions as well.

This would make a great gift for any Christian, and the leather bound addition is perfect. It's sturdy, fits in traditional sized "Bible Holders", and is traditional in it's look. It would work well as a wedding gift or any blessed event.

The Devotional Bible will change your life! This revision of the Inspirational Bible is well thought out and user friendly. The text is that of the New Century Version which is easy to read and talks to the heart. New features include Christ Through the Bible and New Life In Christ articles as well as revised Life Lessons found in side columns by the text. Max Lucado is the General Editor and many of his writings are quoted. If you are looking for a detailed study bible with thousands of notes this is not the choice for you. However, if your heart is hungry for God and you want a Bible that highlights the text and applies it to life the Devotional Bible is an excellent choice. You will experience Jesus as you read!

If you are looking for a study/devotional/teaching bible, this is the one for you. I absolutely LOVE this bible. I had been searching for a bible that had all these elements and I finally found it. I would recommend this bible to all who are looking for a great study bible that will also teach you life lessons.

I love the Word of God and read it in all the possible variations through the different translations which convey the same precious message. The editorship of Max Lucado adds valuable commentary and inspiration. The book itself is finely presented, excellent readability, and instantly became a staple in my companion. Being an evangelical translation, I feel that it's only hitch is the custumary replacement of the Name of God, Jahweh, for LORD. But the translation is excellent and reading this Bible offers unique moments in the presence of God and proximity with Jesus. Congratulations Max Lucado.

I find Max Lucado's devotionals in this Bible to be an awesome tool to start conversations and deep discussions.

You will love it. If you are a Bible Study leader, a pastor, a youth leader. It is a valuable resource for your bookshelf.

This beautiful leather-bound bible is by far the best devotional bible I have ever used. The references are easy to use and the wording is the epitome of "layman's terms". If you want a bible that is easy to use, easy to read and easy to understand - look no further.

I found this Bible excellent. I love Max Lucado and I love the scriptures so what better combination could there be? However, I soon found that I was skipping over the scriptures to read all the devotions - not a great thing to be doing! So, if you want to concentrate on reading the scriptures, you might be better off with something a little less distracting. Otherwise, go for this one!

Of course the bible has always had meaning, but i talk in a sense for those who have had trouble understanding it. I think this bible was meant for me to find because now more then ever in my life I've managed to understand the will of The father and the son. In the past bibles confuggled me to the core. Alot of the old words and sentence structures kept me from catching interest in my life. Up to about a year ago I realized god was calling me to try and change. My first step was to get a bible and little did I know, since i was walking with the world, that the bibles have been updated to reflect modern language. I found that reading this bible was the best and most interesting thing I've done and Easy too. The setup into plain english makes it easy to understand everything that was hidden in my life, and the devotionals on the side make it easy to understand the subject of the stories your reading. Now i understand more what God did and still does for us through Jesus Christ. This book will definately make it easier for those who have trouble to learn the lessons of every story from the Old Testament to the New

Max Lucado sheds a whole new light on Bible Study for me. Max brings refreshing insights to the Scripture and this Bible is a great companion for more complete understanding.
