Now available for your sealed container or drum! Dry out your Vegetable oil or your Black Diesel! Drop one of these filters in while your oil settles and then just pull out the water! This is a water removing filter designed to sit at the bottom of a 55 gallon drum or any type of container or tank with at least a 2 inch opening. It will absorb the water as it settles to the bottom of your supply of vegetable oil biodiesel or black diesel preventing it from entering your engine. It uses a special SuperAbsorbant Polymer crystal that won't absorb your oil but loves to drink the water. This Polymer will absorb up to 60 times its volume in water along with the impurities carried by water. This filter will not absorb vegetable oils, animal fats or petroleum oils. The cloth that contains the Superabsorbent Polymers is a mositure wicking fabric. It will pull the water and hold it until the polymer can absorb it. The filter is designed to fit through a standard drum opening and will then sink to the bottom. As the filter absorbs the water, it will swell up and retain the moisture in a gel form. It will not release the water into the oil. The included pictures show how this product works. The first picture shows a dry filter ready to use. It would be placed through the bung opening on your drum. The second picture is the same filter after it has absorbed almost a gallon of water! The following pictures show another example of the polymers at work. First is a sample of straight vegetable oil and a sample of black diesel, both with a small Polymer filter in the bottom. It will not absorb the oil. The next picture shows a large amount of water introduced to both samples. (a coin was used to keep the filter from floating to the top of the water level) The third picture shows the swollen filters removed from the now dry samples along with the water.
