1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't like it at all, June 1, 2010
This review is from: The Dewilde Affair (Harlequin Single Title) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book jumped around way too much. Didn't feel that it concentrated on any couple enough to really get to know them. First Grace leaves Jeffrey and wasn't sure why until later on. Apparently she told him that she only married him for his money. Later she grew to love him and she can't understand why he doesn't see this. Perhaps he should have talked to her more instead of seeking out another woman to have a fling with. The other woman was around the age of a couple of his kids. Apparently the other woman started falling in love with him so he broke it off. Wife found out and of course left him. Then the "very upstanding man" lets his son blame his mother and be hateful towards her rather than fessing up to his part in the whole thing. The son, Gabriel, of course was no better as he was dating one woman, Julia, and playing fast with another, Lianne, that he claimed to love. Since this is two books in one the story line of Grace and Jeffrey carries over into the second portion and I suspect it was also mentioned in any books in between. However I really didn't like the fact that the two timer Gabriel held a grudge against his mother for so long but when he found out that his father was the one that went elsewhere he quickly forgives him. I guess because he did the same thing, huh?

This review is from: The Dewilde Affair (Harlequin Single Title) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was very disappointed with the storyline of this book. The character Lianne who is a worst women's best friend. Finds herself attracted to her best friend boyfriend and ends up sleeping with him. By the way who is a cad himself. Then the mother of this clan decides to announce to her husband that when she first married him it was for his money & name. Then has the audacity to wonder why husband walk out. It is hard to like a novel when can't even sympathize or better still like the characters.
