Dexim Car Charger with USB Port for iPod/iPhone/Blackberry/HTC (Black)

For months the battle raged on. In one corner, the wife and her trendy iPhone 3GS, and in the other corner, myself and company Blackberry. Every vacation was a title bout for sockets; my charger or hers. Alternating them in the car and hotel rooms every few hours.

During the Christmas holiday, a time of peace and hope, I purchased this charger and hoped my peace offering would bring about a cease fire.

Now, we can charge both phones at the same time, or both the iPhone and a camera or any other USB handheld device. We now enjoy a truce and the bunkers have been abandoned. So if you are tired of putting on the gloves and stepping in the ring (I hope you use gloves), be a peace bearer and buy this charger.

Some tidbits:
- The glowing LED indicates a current (no light = dead socket).
- The curly iPhone cord is quite short and good for charging only (You shouldn't be talking on it while driving anyway)

this car charger works with my iphone and my daughter has used the usb port for hers - we have limited use of it at this point but seems okay esp. for the price!

This is a great charger for my purposes. However, it might not be for you if you want a long cable. The built in iPhone charger cable is the coiled springy type and is not especially long, so it probably wouldn't be great for stretching to a dashboard mount, windshield mount, distant cup holder, etc. However, I just wanted something fairly compact that I could plug in and remove quickly and throw in the glove box when it's not in use - this charger is pretty perfect for that. It has an additional USB socket that comes in very handy when another phone or accessory needs charging and there's a useful little flap to keeps that second port protected when it's not in use.

I purchased this charger so I can charge my iPhone and Blackberry at the same time. It works really well and I've been really happy with this charger.

I'd definitely recommend this product for anyone with an iPhone or iPod.

This is everything you could ask for in a charger. It works with iphones, ipods, and has a seperate USB slot for any other device you have....

Overall, I really want to love this product but, alas, it is more of a "like". The unit itself is decently made and the port placements and such are properly placed with easy access. However, the quality of the material and detail is just too lacking and a couple of features not-present to make this the ideal car adapter.

First, and the most toublesome, is the included "coiled" iPod cable is WAY too short and TOO tight. I spent a week "stretching" it out and even after that it was nearly useless to me as I couldn't bring the phone up to my ear w/o it being pulled with force back. The problem seems to be in the curled cord not long enough and, even more so, the plastic too cheap and firm. I end up bringing a USB cable to the car and rarely use the attached cord. Which defeats the whole purpose of this purchase.

Also, while the connector on the attached cord is working fine today, it does not seem to be well constructed and I doubt it would hold up for a length of time.

Lastly, there is no change in power lights for charing. They need to alternate colors from "red" plugged but not charging to a "green" plugged in and charging. Ideally, it would be great if they had to different lights for separate charging devices; one for the attached cable and one for the USB port.

In the end, it functions. However, I wish I would've purchased a different car adapter all together and will likely end up doing so.
