Sharp with a slightly sloppy edge(But who cares.. It's for filleting fish not art) that will dissapear when I finally have to sharpen
Sharpens easy.. Rusts easy if you forget it in the sink. Slices through everything from bass, flounder, blue fish with no problem.
Am happy with it's length; still use my shorter fillet knife sometimes but I mostly use this guy even on small bass(less than 9")
Has been holding it's edge great even though i cut through bones and the like Had it for a while and it still slides right through paper whenever i bother to check. As soon as it snags on news paper I'll sharpen it on a fine stone, strop, and it'll be as good as new
Great knife!

Initially when i got it i was very please with the construction. the tang runs 3/4 of the way through the handle which makes for a very sturdy blade and the wood for the handle is pretty nice (basic softer light wood) the blade seems on the cheaper side of quality. But here me out, the metal for the blad can be taken a few different ways... I see it as a bit on the "soft" side as far as metal hardness goes, this means it loses its edge relatively quickly. but on that same note, you can sharpen it much much easier and get a really sharp edge in no time at all. i personally typically like a harder metal that will hold edge longer even though it would take me longer to get a nice sharp edge. that is my only complaint is that the metal doesnt hold an edge as long as i would like. but when you get that edge on it.... amn watch out that thing is shap like a razor. for he price... it is fantastic.
