Some critics and fans thought that Season 6 of "Dexter" was a bit of a disappointment, although I must say the music was just as great as it always has been.

The soundtrack features a compilation of music that appears in Season 6. There are a few "songs" with lyrics, but the majority of the album is the fantastic underscore by Daniel Licht. I really enjoy Mr. Licht's music when I watch "Dexter" - the tone of the score fits perfectly with everything you are seeing on screen.

For those who own the previous soundtracks, there is some overlap in the music (particularly the Main Title music by Rolfe Kent). But other key themes, such as the Blood Theme, evolve with each season and thus are slightly different. This time around, the Blood Theme gets a very good remix courtesy of Alaska In Winter -- that track, along with "Tonight's the Night" (Ice Truckers Remix), is probably the highlight of the album.

Overall, the album feels a bit repetitive and so there may not be a good reason to pick this up if you already own the soundtrack(s) from the previous seasons. But the remixes definitely warrant a listen, and fortunately they can be purchased individually.
