Dexter + Hip-Hop, September 23, 2002
This review is from: Dexter's Laboratory: The Hip-Hop Experiment (Audio CD)
When I first saw the commercial for this album on Cartoon Network, I knew I had to have it. I love Dexter's Lab, and I'm into Hip-Hop, what could be better? My feeling on the cd is mixed. Most of the tracks are good, but not all. The intro track is just the opening theme, which seems somewhat redundant. The Coolio track is pretty bad in my opinion, I think Coolio forgot how to rhyme at some point. Also De La Soul must not watch Dexter's Lab, since they think Dee-Dee is Dexter's little sister. However, the rest of the tracks are very well done, and overall the album is worth the price of admission. If you're a Dexter's Lab fan and you're into Hip-Hop, I'd say pick it up.

I am stunned by how good this album is! Sure the tracks here are here are 'kid friendly' enough, but these are real beats and real songs. As a music fan in my mid-30s I can't hear this CD enough, I play it non-stop in my car and at home. It is a soon-to-be-classic in the tradition of De La's 3 Feet High album. My only complaint is that it is not long enough. I can't wait for the sequal, if there is one. Be the first on the block to snatch this one up, and let 'them' know there is a demand for this stuff. It speaks to kids as well as adults, just like the best cartoons do! Say his name: DEXTER!!!

My kids love it!, July 28, 2005

We first heard 2 of these tunes(and video) on a free dvd in a package of poptarts. My kids really liked the songs, so I looked everywhere to find them on cd. I like it because it is hip hop without the sometimes nasty lyrics.
