Book Description

December 31, 2000
In Dhyanalinga: The Silent Revolution, master, mystic and yogi Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev introduces a spiritual tool for humanity so powerful that it defies the boundaries of the human mind. This extraordinary book guides readers to an understanding of yoga as energy states beyond the five senses, culminating in the presentation of Dhyanalinga, an embodiment of primordial, formless, divine energy. This unique meditation shrine is the first of its kind to grace the Earth in over 2,000 years and is the pinnacle of three lifetimes of intense spiritual work by one of the most profound mystics of modern times. Sadhguru's limitless love and energy permeate this book, which captures Dhyanalinga on print through vivid color photographs depicting its architectural magnificence.

In the metaphysical sense, Dhyanalinga is the manifestation of a Guru, an energy center of tremendous proportions and a space where the transformation from limited to resplendent unbounded can happen in an instant. This book helps spiritual seekers recognize the role of a Guru in raising one's inner energies to the peak of self-realization. Sadhguru explains, "A Guru works in his presence and out of his presence, not through words. That which you refer to as Guru is a certain energy, a certain space, not a person. The relationship is neither physical, psychological nor emotional, it is beyond body and mind. It is a sacred, enduring relationship essential for any person evolving himself to his ultimate nature."

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is a channel between man and the divine who offers humanity an opportunity and possibility to transcend the body and mind and experience the boundless divine bliss within. Dhyanalinga invites us to explore a new kind of spiritual practice that can transform us at our core. This richly illustrated book combines historical perspective with sacred wisdom and the master's provocative poetry as a roadmap to other dimensions of reality.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The book on the holy Dhyanalinga radiates heartful devotion, grace and mystery of the Guru...a gift to us all." -- Stuart Sovatsky, PhD, Infinity Foundation.org, Conflict Resolutionist, Author of Words From the Soul.

From the Inside Flap

Yoga...the term has been trivialised to represent a set of bodily postures and exercises. This book attempts to present a deeper definition of yoga and its metaphysical essence. It culminates in the presentation of the Dhyanalinga, the pinnacle of a yogi's journey.

Dhyanalinga is the distilled essence of yogic science...a wonder, both in the physical and metaphysical senses. The physical aspects are exemplified by the sheer architectural and artistic magnificence of the Linga and the temple. In the metaphysical sense, the Dhyanalinga is a Guru, an energy centre of tremendous proportions and a space where the transformation from limited to resplendent unbounded can happen in an instant.

Until I went to India and sat with this "thing" I had only heard stories ... now I know. Read it, then go there, sit, and you will see.

The idea behind the Dhyanalinga is to make a profound impact on the society in a meaningful way. The science behind the temple and its evolution is definitely worth a read for everyone.

The book is a hardcover with wonderful pictures, art and poems. Truth has never been presented so well. I'm amazed that a book of this quality is offered at this price. This book is definitely a keepsake and has a place in my collection.
