Product Description

Thin, durable memory card holder slips comfortably into wallet, purse or pocket. Store up to 512 Gigabytes depending on the size of your memory cards. Memory cards are held firmly in place, optionally attach to lanyard (not supplied). Ideal for use with microSD-compatible mobile phones, tablet PC's, cameras, camcorders, games consoles, etc. Allows you to keep all your photo's, videos, movies, emails with you off-line, always available even when your network is not. No need to leave valuable data in your phone or PC, carry it with you on-person. *** PLEASE NOTE THIS HOLDER DOES NOT ACCOMMODATE FULL-SIZE SD CARDS (alternate model available). The DiMeCard provides a click, heard and felt when each microSD card is inserted into the holder and has positively locked in. * when a card has been inserted & locked in it will sit flush inside the card holder edge, if it has not locked in it will protrude over the edge of the card holder. Each memory card is retained by an internal spring clip which engages with the notch on the side of the microSD card. As SD Card Association members we have purposefully designed the holder to use this notch feature of the microSD specification. This is the safest way and avoids any bending strain on the chip inside the memory card. The DiMeCard micro8 has been drop tested from a height of 12 feet on to a hard surface and even when the card holder lands on its edge, none of the eight microSD cards are ejected. The card holder has also been tested by attaching it to a lanyard and 'swinging' it by rotation at 100 RPM without any memory cards falling out. * Memory cards are enclosed when inserted allowing the DiMeCard to slip smoothly in and out of the inner sleeves of a tight wallet without snagging. * Card holder body molded in one-piece ABS plastic. * Also available in white and red.

This holder is a compact way to carry Micro SD cards.
Tracy S. Dryden
Since the holder is slim and about the size of a credit card, it fits in a wallet or pocket with no trouble at all and he has been very happy with it.

This holder is a compact way to carry Micro SD cards. However, there's no solid confirmation that card is inserted and it makes you a little worried about just how securely the cards are held. Also the cards are completely covered by the holder, making it impossible to tell what size each card is. There is a space to write that information on one side of the holder, but that's restrictive. There is an alternative Micro SD card holder in the marketplace that is a little thicker, but holds the cards more securely, leaves their labels visible, holds 10 cards instead of eight, and also holds a standard SD card adapter. I really can't recommend this product.

UPDATE: I was personally contacted by the manufacturer of this product concerning this review. They were concerned about some of my comments and wanted to clarify things for me. Here's what they told me:

* There is a definite click when the card is inserted and has positively locked in. It is obvious when a card has not been properly inserted because it will sit proud from the edge. If your card holder is not operating in that way, please return it to Amazon for a refund.

The memory card is retained by an internal spring clip which engages with the notch on the side of the microSD card. Unlike the other reviewers, I can definitely feel and hear the "Click" when I insert the microSD cards into place. I certainly feel they are securely in there, in fact, I feel they are LESS secure while inserted into my tablet. The tablet's spring is so tight that it LITERALLY ejects the microSD cards out (ASUS Transformer Prime 201.) Not so with this handy card holder.

Pros:

- Nice labels. I used a fine Sharpie to label each slot, and there has been no noticable wear on the labels in the past few weeks, with daily use.

- Although meant for wallet use, I found a better place to carry it... in that useless business card holder inside the front flap of my tablet's case! Perfect. My cards are always with my tablet!

Cons:

- Not really a con for me, as I don't carry it in a wallet, however it is rather thick... so figure on it taking up the same space as three credit cards would, thickness-wise.

- No spot to carry the adapter card to convert it to SD sized for my larger computers. Not a deal killer for me, however it it had one this would be a five star product!

It's a card holder, It works ok, holds cards securely, and does mostly what it is supposed to do.

What I really _hate_ about it is the gross amount of self-promotion on the device, severely limiting the space available to label your cards. There is no comparison with the SanDisk card holder (don't think Amazon sells, so am not including a link, but a simple search will find); while a few dollars' more expensive, there's plenty of room to label each of the eight cards it too holds, and the SanDisk includes 24 removable labels with each holder making it a snap when changing cards.

This one wastes the entire back side for no good purpose (doesn't even advertise the company, instead just restating what it is, something we assume the purchaser already knows), and the front contains a QR code and website advertising, allowing no more than a tiny non-replaceable square for labeling. For those of us with literally scores of memory cards, this holder is far from the best choice; I'm afraid this purchase will be my last. Next time, I'm back to the SanDisk shop.

straight to biziniss, this one. Just the slots for the µSD cards, a mildly cheesy-looking label, and it does its job.

Oops, I originally complained about the microSD cards falling out, but after an email from the manufacturer I discovered that I had not pressed the microSD card in far enough. I was apprehensive about breaking the card or the holder and had not pressed hard enough. Now that I've used it correctly it is amazing and very pleased with it. In fact, I've ordered another one for a friend!!!!

I've been doing some hacking with the Beagle Bone and Beagle Board-xm embedded computers, which use microSD to store different versions of the Linux operating system. I had about a dozen of these tiny microSD cards scattered around my desk. A couple of these holders really helped organize them.
Addressing a couple comments below, build quality seems fine (and I'm pretty picky). The cards give a nice tactile click when inserted. Cards are not too difficult or easy to get in or out. I would not have a concern about dropping the card, or swinging way faster than expected and losing chips.

This holder is functional, but very flimsy. When inserting a memory card into it, I felt it bending in spite of being very careful with it. Removing cards requires similar care. I am more worried about it breaking and thus damaging my cards than I am loosing a card out of it as the cards seat firmly. The "labels" are small and have a coating on them that doesn't accept ink very well.

Conclusion: It works - for now, but I would NOT buy one again, regardless of the price.
