These lever hoods fit Dia-Compe brake lever great but it comes with no instructions and I could not find guidance on the internet. I tore the rubber on my first set ordered and had to reorder a second set after I figured out how to install. You don't have to take off the lever handle or anything--just leave it on the bike. Slide the rubber hood up over the brake lever and onto the main body of the lever which is clamped onto the handlebars. I found it first helpful to soften the rubber by letting it sit in a pot of hot boiling water before trying to work it over the brake lever. You will have to pull and stretch the rubber over the little pointy nub at the tip above the lever and this is where you can tear the hood so be careful. The rubber will tear because of all the stretching it takes to clear the nub. The trick is to roll the hood back over itself so you are only stretching half the width of the hood (I hope that makes sense). Point being when you are stretching rubber that is half as wide, there is less chance of tear when you stretch, pull and work the rubber over the nub.
