Freud Router Bits are known for their exceptional quality, unmatched precision and maximum cutting life. The bits are carefully crafted using the best materials, the industry's most sophisticated manufacturing processes, and include exclusive Freud features such as TiCo Hi-Density Carbide and red Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating. Freud's bits also contain revolutionary, innovative designs such as Quadra-Cut and Double-Grind.

Freud's new Premier Solid Carbide bit series delivers 2x the cutting life and finish quality of current bits on the market. These bits combine a unique high performance open flute design, advanced precision grind technology and specific TiCo Hi-Density carbide to provide the most productive and cost effective solid carbide bits on the market today.

TiCo Hi-Density carbide is a specially formulated, highly compact Titanium Cobalt Carbide engineered and manufactured by Freud to maximize performance on all Freud cutting tools. Designed in Freud research and development laboratories, Freud's TiCo Hi-Density carbide is scientifically developed using Titanium Carbide, Cobalt and Tungsten (as well as proprietary elements), to produce a supreme product. Carbide size is extremely important when it comes to sharpness as well as the rate at which an edge wears. The larger the carbide grain, the faster an edge will wear. While standard carbides measure as large as 5 microns, and an advanced micrograin carbide can measure 1 micron, Freud's TiCo Hi-Density Carbide is miniscule in comparison at 0.8 microns, with a laminate blend as small as 0.4 microns.

I am using this for string inlay. For that purpose, it works great. I am only cutting 3/32" deep, so I don't anticipate any problem with the tip breaking. So far, so good.

This is a good, durable bit. I am routing plastic with it. It's good for that and was durable. It lasted until I hit it accidentally with another tool. I am buying more.

I've built a cnc router table for hobby projects. I power the cutting device with a Porter Cable router. I bought this bit and another from Freud to cut MDF parts and solid-wood gifts. This bit has performed perfectly in solid-oak, mdf, and even nylon sheets! I recommend this bit quite highly!

I did have issues with the first one. I'm not certain whether or not it was damaged in shipping, or broken on my end, but the first of these broke. For the record, I have no complaints given that 1/16" is a very, very small bit!

Style Name: 3/32-Inch Diameter by 3/8-Inch Double Flute Straight Router Bit with 1/4-Inch Shank Verified Purchase
I ordered this bit for a defined purpose, namely, setting commonly-available sheet glass from a big-box store into the oak sides of a display case my father and I have been constructing to house some of his scale models. This was the fifth case we had built, and up to this point we had been using a .125" single-flute bit (the only thing available in town near correct size) and just putting up with the large amount of play between the glass thickness and the groove width. Shims were required to prevent rattle when the case was assembled, and we wished to avoid that on the fifth case.

I was somewhat apprehensive when I ordered this bit, the intended groove depth was very nearly the full depth of the cutter (3/8"), and as a multiple of cutter diameter is fully 4D deep. That seemed quite extreme to me, and I was very worried about the bit's durability in use. As it turns out, my concerns were entirely unfounded. This solid-carbide, Freud Industrial bit sliced through the oak like BUTTER. I made my deepest cuts in two passes, approximately 3/16" deep per pass, and I could hardly even feel the bit in the cut, the action was so smooth. The case required a finished length of 176" of cut, about a quarter of that 3/8" deep, and the rest about 1/4" deep. At the end of the project, inspection under a 30X scope showed no sign of damage to the bit what-so-ever. Tips were still crisp, edges were still sharp, no sign of heating, etc. This bit will be good for many more uses.

I will definitely be looking at the Freud line of bits additionally, this one performed far above even my most optimistic predictions.

Style Name: 5mm Diameter by 15/32-Inch Double Flute Straight Router Bit with 1/4-Inch Shank Verified Purchase
I bought a piece of 1/4" birch plywood from the big orange hardware store for the center panel of a door on an entertainment center I am building. When I went to route out a slot in the styles and rails of the door for this center panel, I was surprised to find out that my undersized router bit (7/32") was far too large. What I discovered was that the Home Depot 1/4" plywood is actually labeled as 5.2mm and this 5.2mm ply is actually right on 5mm thick. This metric router bit created the perfect size slot for my center panel and saved me from having to buy a different thickness plywood at a more expensive wood store. Can't beat the price from Amazon either.

a good choice for a router bit that I use for routing inlays on wood. The quality is good, the item was received quickly and I would recommend it to others wishing to purchase this size bit.

I do a lot of inlay work and this is a must -have router bit. Worth every penny; great product and price. Do be careful...bit is fragile due to small diameter, but cuts any wood like butter.
