Recorded in 2005, Demidenko's extraordinary interpretation breaths life into these variations. I have dozens of recordings of these pieces and these are by far my favorite. He captures all the beauty, comedy, and sutblty. I heard lines and parts in this recording that I hadn't heard in others.
The sound quality is one of the richest I have ever heard. I would be happy to see him begin recording a cycle of Beethoven's sonatas. Highly recommended!
