The hard reality is that we have an "epidemic" of obesity in children, the likes of which has never been seen before. Children are also getting OBESITY RELATED Diabetes and that is very, very serious...because while obesity carries its own risk factors (early onset heart disease, social rejection, etc)..diabetes can cause blindness, circulatory problems and worse.
This book is a guideline for parents who want to help their children from getting Diabetes - or to treat them if they do get it. The author means it when she writes "a take charge plan". This means parents and children can be pro-active and prevent diabetes or keep it from becoming even worse. An absolute MUST READ for anyone with an obese child. |
