5.0 out of 5 stars I don't even have diabetes
I picked this book up along with a few others to help me with gout. I wanted to move more towards a vegetarian type diet (minimizing animal protein). Now, I LOVE meat, but it no longer has my best interests at heart *sigh*

I've made many of the recipes in this book and they taste great, and were even fun to make. They offer a really wide variety of things for...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected.
I really, really wanted to use this book. But the recipes are just not normal, everyday person friendly. The recipes, in my opinion, are more appropriate for the gourmet food lover -- not the burger and fries type person. In fact, there is terminology in this book that I just don't know. What does it mean to "hull" a strawberry? There are foods that I do not know. Too...

I've made many of the recipes in this book and they taste great, and were even fun to make. They offer a really wide variety of things for every meal, including snacks. I liked it so much, I just bought another copy for my sister, who does have diabetes.

I feel like I just wasted hard-earned money on this book. The majority of the main meal recipes call for yogurt and I'm extremely lactose intolerant, so I can kiss those recipes goodbye. As far as the rest of the recipes go, I think they just sound totally unappetizing and/or are more difficult to spend the time making than they're worth. I'm Italian, been cooking for 45 years and am not a novice cook, so I do know what I'm speaking about.
