The PSX translation of Diablo breathed new life into this PC classic. I've played this game on the PC since it was released (with a few short breaks to eat & sleep) and it only recently lost it's fun. But when I played the Playstation version, I was immediately addicted - again. I like the new interface; somehow it seems more action-packed with a gamepad rather than a stupid mouse, and I liked how the game actually paused when you access the character & inventory screens. In all, if you've played Diablo on the PC, the PSX version will make it fun all over again; and if you've never played Diablo before...you're in for a horrific treat. (That reminds me: the first time I EVER played this game, it scared the daylights out of me :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Hackin' and Slashin' With Friends, January 2, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Diablo (Video Game)
Diablo has unique characteristics about it. Unique weapons, armors, amulets, just about every item you can get your hands on. Two player mode will not allow you to carry over unique items, but it offers more choices. Sure, the Chamber of Bone was a good experience area is one player, but the Caves are even better; if you can reach them. Two player mode allows you to take on almost any monster if your characters are good enough. My brother's level 19 warrior and my level 21 sorcerer can decimate everything until the end of the caves. Sure, you may think that it takes a long time to reach high levels such as 20, which requires over one million experience, but after that level, a new option is open:Nightmare mode. That means the enemies are harder, more traps, gold and items, but it is well worth it. All in all, Diablo is the RPG/action game that is worth buying.

Once in a while, an awsome games comes along and everyone is just stunned about how great it is. They might say how fun it is and how you should get this. I'm not telling you that you have to buy Diablo, but I reccomend it. It is definetly worth a try if you're a big action/RPG gamer and don't mind some gore. It has wonderfully beautiful graphics. Add some bone crunching sounds into it and it's a masterpiece. This will definetly be a game that you will not stop playing until you beat it. If you don't buy this game, you're getting left out. But then again, this is just my opinion.

This game is addictive and warps time. I start and after a few moments of play, I notice the sun has gone down and the clock has rolled ahead several hours. Never boring and never the same, Diablo is a game that makes you want to play it over and over.

Diablo is a fine game. There is no other game to compare with it .the gameplay is fast and you have to learn different strategies for each character .with the random creation of dugeon levels makes the game feel new each time you play it. you dont know what is at the end of each corridor. the magical items you can use to enhance the characters abilities attacks and defenses giving the character a chance to resist spell attacks fire and electrical or it cas be used to boost one of your stats. in multiplayer mode it is very fun to with the added bonus of playing with others and using the characters skills to full effect.Net games are just as fun but be prepaired for pks player killers who collect your ears not many games like this to compare it with ultima online is good but diablo has more action and more matched for new players can enter the lower part of the dungeon and the experienced can go in to the deepest depths of Diablos dungeon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dare to Enter..., January 29, 2004
This review is from: Diablo (Video Game)
Diablo is pretty faithfully ported over to the Playstation, however the graphics aren't as clean as in the PC version of the game. But this game is still a worthy addition to your Playstation library simply for the fact that the dungeons, characters, items, weapons, etc. hold such a diverse amount that this game can keep you occupied for weeks and weeks. The two-player option is really cool, allowing you and a friend to tackle the dungeons together. Everytime you start a new game, the dungeons "randomize", so you won't find things in the same place as you did before. Sound is on par, however if you're used to the mouse in the PC version, the controls associated with the PSX will confuse you at first. A little practice is all that's needed to master it in no time. Overall, an excellent game, worthy of addition to anyone's library of Playstation games if they're into a good old-fashioned "dungeon romp".

All I can say is "this game is absolutely fantastic" It's been around awhile but to those who haven't played it yet "if your looking for a great rpg that has killing, killing, killing and rewards that keep you playing, this is your next game" I have played this game for at least 1000 hrs, and still play it, hats off to blizzard entertainment!

This game is basically a classic RPG, in the fact that you go around with one of three diff. character classes, bash things, get gold & exp. points, upgrade, then go bash some more. My family owns 3 copies, and my brother and I play frequently over our network.(we have the pc version,) and as the title says, if you like RPG's, BUY THIS GAME!

5.0 out of 5 stars 25 bucks?? WORTH IT!, November 4, 2004
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Diablo (Video Game)
Ok, I kept putting off getting this game because of having the PC Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction and I don't like paying 25 bucks for PS1 games. I usually try to go 15 bucks or less for them since graphics and gameplay are kinda off by today's standards of PS2. And even though I wanted it I felt like I would play it a few minutes and be sick of the controls and graphics. It is an excellent game and it's portable on my PSOne...if you're a fan just get it. The controls are tedious and annoying for awhile but after an hour or so it isn't so bad. It took me a little over 5 hours to get my warrior to level 13---don't know if that's good or bad (don't really care, either) but it was a fun five hours.
