On my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I plug my predator into the ODBII port and it would not install a tune because the factory ECU needed an update. the only way to update the factory tune with the predator was to connect it to a PC, install the diablo sport programs, and let it download the update from the internet. Luckily I had ordered this kit with the programmer. This is a must have item if you purchase the programmer. Worked well with windows Vista. Only complaint is the USB connector does not fit tight like a quality connector should. But this does not effect the operation of the kit. You can buy the serial to USB cable from Radio Shack, but this kit includes the needed Power supply to run the programmer out of the vehicle to update the programmer.

This is a companion review to the Diablosport Predator.

You pretty much have to have this kit to use the Predator with most PCs.

It should be included with the price of the Diablosport Predator unit.

That is the only reason I could not give the Predator a five star rating!

Product is fine if your don't have windows seven. If you do Like I have your in trouble. Windows seven does not like the drivers for this product. Will not download them. I tried 24 times and finally gave up. Had to return it to Amazon.

I purchased this kit to update my predator,the Driver CD was broken when removed from the box, so I had to downloaded from the web site and it worked great.
I think this kit should be supplied with the Diablosport Predateor at the first place

this product helps you to update your diablosport predetor at home, office or any where instead of taking the diadlo with the laptop to your car and updating it there.
get it and make your life easier.

I didn't actually lose my cable though, I bought my predator tuner from a friend. He sold it to me cheap since he didn't have the PC connection cable for it, but I found this one on amazon and it worked like a charm. Saved me a lot of money!

The USB-to-serial cable requires driver software to work with most computers. I have had an awful time trying to get the thing to work with my Windows XP machine. The included driver did not work. The drivers on the DiabloSport site have not worked either.

Works well with DiabloSport Tuner. I bought one not made for my tuner and it didn't work so I got this and no more problems.

This kit is a little bit pricey for equipment you well need to update your flash tuner . But in the real world ac/dc power supplies are indeed pricey . But I could have purchased a generic serial cable from [...] for [...] . But everything works as intended and compatibility with the flash tuner is guaranteed .

For anyone wanting to to data log and fine tune their perticular vehicle, the PC Interface Kit is a must. Only way to update your programmer too. I know some people are having problems installing the drivers on Windows 7, it must be a hit and miss situation. I just installed the drivers from the provided cd, and I have Win7 64bit OS. I have UAC(User Account Control) disabled, and right clicked using "Run as administrator"- and it worked for me. All I ask before ordering up this kit is that you make sure that your Diablo Predator is capable of data logging in the first place, pretty much check with Diablo to see if your version of software is correct. If not- you can send it in for a fee and they can get you setup for for this option-
