5.0 out of 5 stars Diablo / 400-Watt / ATX / Dual 80mm Fan / 24-Pin / SATA Ready / Power Supply
I'm happy the Diablo 400W power supply. I had a year old mail server which had become unstable and unusable, and I was about to junk the hardware, but a friend suggested that power supply problems could be the issue. I googled around and ended up ordering the Diablo unit. After replacing the original power supply with the Diablo, the server has been 100% reliable. The...

1.0 out of 5 stars Both died very quickly
Bought 2 of these 400 watt'ers (1 backup) to help power my additional video card. I was shocked that the first one died suddenly right at only 6 months. I figured no problem, I have a backup so I replaced it. To my utter disappointment, the backup died in less than a week. So I re-installed the original 350 watt P/S that came with my 3 year old PC and it's been...

The Diablo 400W power supply runs quiet and cool, does the job reliably, and was not expensive. what more can I say?

5.0 out of 5 stars Tiger direct PC Power supply, September 17, 2005
This review is from: Diablotek DA Series 400-Watt ATX Power Supply PSDA400 (Personal Computers)
This was better (dual fans) than what I could buy at a local computer superstore in the USA, and it was less than 1/3 of the cost.

Good deal!

At first the connecdtors looked incorrect- but upon closer inspection they were "changeable".

I ordered this power supply to support an upgrade to a new motherboard with a higher-power CPU. It installed with absolutely no problems, and no issues with fit or alignment in my circa 2001 Compaq Presario. Apparently, power supplies have become completely generic -- there was abosolutely no documentation delivered with the PS, not a data sheet, pin-out drawing or anything. All you have is the limited specs printed on the box.

But, as all the plugs are physically differentiated and self-aligning, it's virtually impossible to mess up the installation. Still, it would be nice to have *some* technical information. While the metal framework of the power supply is certainly adequate, it did not measure up to the heavier metal in the OEM Compaq power supply it replaced. But, at the price, this is not a tremendous suprise. AC power cord is included.

So I re-installed the original 350 watt P/S that came with my 3 year old PC and it's been working fine. The Diablotek's came with a 3 year warranty but I won't take 2 more of the same model. I only paid $ 20 each so I guess I got what I paid for...

I've ordered about 4 of these and am ordering another now. It's my go-to PSU for customer jobs that have zapped PSUs. Can't say anything other than it's great!

3.0 out of 5 stars Register it so your warranty is valid for 3 years!!!!!, December 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Diablotek DA Series 400-Watt ATX Power Supply PSDA400 (Personal Computers)
The good news: It worked fine from May of 2010 through early December of 2011.

The bad news: It died yesterday.

I still have the PSDA400's box which says that it has a three-year warranty, BUT the warranty is only valid if you register it online within 30 days of purchase -- which I hadn't.

So, if you're going to buy it, REGISTER IT SO THE WARRANTY IS VALID for more than a year.

I just ordered another PSDA400 (glutton for punishment?), but you can bet I'm going to register this one and keep all the materials necessary for return. If this one dies within a couple of years I'll return it and buy something else.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only started up once, then died, August 14, 2011
This review is from: Diablotek DA Series 400-Watt ATX Power Supply PSDA400 (Personal Computers)
Started up once for several seconds, then I shut it down and it would not start again. Very surprising considering that all of the box and stickers on the power supply it says that it was 100% quality assured. It said on the box that it came with a 3-year guarantee, but I did a brief search on the web and on YouTube and saw a number of people that said Diablotek power supplies fail often. I guess I'll contact the vendor or Diablotek and try to get another one, but considering I've never had a replacement power supply die almost immediately like this, I'm not holding out much hope in future reliability.

This was very easy to install, I can hardly hear it running. This was a bougth at a great price. Great replacement for my 250 watt.I Would NOT buy this product again. UPDATE..After using this product it did become very loud and annoying after start up.
Also do remember to get the 3 year warranty you must resister your product within 30 days, if not you will only receive 1 year. I am going to contact there support team today and see what they can do about this noise problem...
