5.0 out of 5 stars It's good.
It's not very long but it's fun while it lasts. Diagnosis for death has only eight songs, but I can honestly say that every single song is at least a 4 out of 5 star rating. "Mommy Made Luv 2 An Alien", "Spiderbaby", and "Goodbye", are my favorites. But, I swear I can listen to Diagnosis for Death from beginning to end.

2.0 out of 5 stars Where's the pulse, Doc?
I'd probably give this closer to 1.5 stars, but I rounded up.
This is a really short album, with only 8 songs, and of those songs, there are a few that I just couldn't tolerate, like "Heavy Metal" and "Powerless," while the others were okay, but nothing special. The entire album just seems a little cheesy: the music, the lyrics, everything. I know that horrorpunk is...

The entire album just seems a little cheesy: the music, the lyrics, everything. I know that horrorpunk is supposed to be fun, but there's a difference between fun and corny, and clearly the Doc doesn't get it.

I have to add that I'm a fan of Misfits (both Glenn and Graves eras), and followed Graves' and CHUD's careers pretty steadily. This album is just a weak entry into CHUD's resume, and to horrorpunk in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carnivorous Humanoid Underground Drummer, December 25, 2006

I have recently had the great fortune of playing a show with Dr. Chud's X-ward with my band The Lodi Brotherhood, and I must say, Doc puts on one hell of a show, full of energy and power.

If you have the chance to listen to this album, do it. It is a MUST for any horror punk fan. Simple riffs and cheesy horror lyrics make it fantastic... I mean come on "Mommy Made Luv 2 An Alien" is shear greatness and "Bury You Alive" is by far one of the best horror punk songs to come out since "Scream" by The Misfits. (which Chud played drums on)

It's not for everyone, but I truly believe that pleasing the mainstream wasn't the intention. But if you are a true fan of Horror Punk....

5.0 out of 5 stars great, October 27, 2006
This review is from: Diagnosis for Death (Audio CD)
this is an excellent album from beginning to end. each song has different sound to it and thats due to the fact that it isnt just one band playing. each track has a different line up which gives the album a very unique sound. best tracks are 'mommy made luv 2 an alien', 'goodbye', ,spiderbaby, and 'blue skin'. powerless is an excellent opening track and bury you alive is the perfect song to end the album with. the cd also comes with 2 music videos that are very entertaining. the musicianship on this record is great, very well produced album. the vinyl version of this album comes with an excellent cover of 'hangin on the telephone' originally a song by the nerves and covered by blondie. this is a must have if u r a fan of horror punk. their live show is incredible too.

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT BAD BUT NOT GREAT, July 4, 2005
This review is from: Diagnosis for Death (Audio CD)
I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I HEARD THE NEWS OF DR CHUD PUTTING OUT THIS CD. WHEN HE CAME TO CANADA I MADE SURE I SAW HIM LIVE AND HE DID NOT DISSAPOINT. HOWEVER WITH THIS ALBUM IT WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A LET DOWN AS IT'S NOT THAT GREAT, IT'S NOT BAD JUST NOT GREAT. IT HAS FOUR GREAT SONGS AND FOUR SO SO SONGS. BLUE SKIN, MOMMY MADE LUV TO AN ALIEN AND SPIDERBABY ARE SIMPLY WORKS OF ART. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE WHICH I KNOW IS BEING WORKED ON NOW. IF YOUR A DR CHUD FAN PICK IT UP OTHERWISE IT'S BETTER SEEING THE GOOD DOCTOR LIVE..

SEE YA IN THE PIT

This album is good, albiet short. The only complaint I have is Chud's vocals...I'm sorry but The good Doctor belongs where he has been most of his career...behind a drum set. His vocals are ok, but not as good as Mike Graves, or Danzigs...When he hits high notes I swear his voice is off key. The punk chords are typical of course but enjoyable...overrall a good horror punk cd with cheesy lrics..oh well....buy it if you have an open mind and a love for scary punk.

This review is from: Diagnosis for Death (Audio CD)
thats what i heard after i got through my first listen of this cd. i worked at a record store and i got this for free just based on how much im obsessed with the misfits and holy hell, pure crap. i just tossed it in the trash. i kinda feel bad for the homeless dude that stumbles on this one. i just hope that if he does, he cant get his hands on a cd player.

Well gang, I had the good fortune and the great pleasure of seeing and hanging out with Dr. Chud's X-Ward LIVE last night. I have to say, it was the most fun I can remember having at a show. The guys rocked with unmatched energy. Here is a hardworking, down to Earth bunch of guys if ever there was. I highly recommend that you catch these guys if you can. You'll have a blast!

The CD is alot of fun(I'm particularly enjoying "Spiderbaby" as I am currently reading book 7 of Stephen King's "the Dark Tower" series and there just happens to be a Half human/half spider baby in there.) The packaging is nice and includes a neat mini-comic. Perfect for that Halloween party or anytime you need a rockin' Horror-Punk fix. I highly recommend "Diagnosis for Death."

Check out the band's site for more info: http://www.drchudsxward.com/
