This review is from: Diagnostic Medical Parasitology (Hardcover)
I had purchased this textbook for a Medical Parasitology course I took, and I initially had mixed feelings about the book. This review will be from an UNDERGRADUATE student perspective.
Pros: +Lots of really good information (Life cycle, diagnostic criteria, treatment, etc.) +Pictures and diagrams are helpful with identification +Large appendix with everything from staining procedure to a list companies (contact info included) to purchase supplies from Cons: -Too much information for a single semester undergraduate course -Can be a difficult read compared to Elizabeth Zeibig's Clinical Parasitology: A Practical Approach Summary: If you are an instructor teaching a single semester parasitology course for undergraduates, I would suggest you pass this book up on your required textbook list. That said, I would also tell your students that if they are pursuing a career in the field of Parasitology or plan on practicing medicine in developing nations that this textbook would be extremely valuable to their efforts in diagnosing and treating parasite infections as there are not only pictures and diagrams of the parasites, but also pictures of people who are infected and what the wounds look like.

The new edition (the fifth) is better than the previously published. This book is usefull in a parasitology lab. The key points for laboratory diagnostic are usefull for driving lab tech and students. Infectious diseases provoked by rare parasite are not forgotten. the ratio weight of paper with a lot of draws and pictures /price is very good.

The book is excellent and just like a new one.I bought this item for my parasitology class and found it great in covering the material,it's also required for this class. It has many illustrations and real microscopic figuers that explains all the materials that the students need.GREAT PRODUCT.
The shipping was too fast from the seller also, and the price is good as compaired to other sellers' price.

The Diagnostic Medical Parasitology book was exactly what my daughter asked for. According to my daughter, it arrived in a timely manner. No complaints what-so-ever. Thanks!

The book arrived in a short time and was just as described. Slight damage to outer cover which is hardly noticable and not an issue for use. Text was from a college library and was retired when new version came out. As this subject area doesn't change often, this is a perfect way to have what can be an expensive book for a VERY reasonable price. The book itself is a wealth of information and profusely illustrated.
