5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This book has a very concise, yet systematic treatment of breast pathology topics. Each section and chapter begins with a concise introduction and current understanding of the disease entities. The photos in this book are some of the best available. I am a resident in a subspecialty pathology training program. If I find the time to read, which is rare, the book is...

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing text with good pictures poorly matching the content
This book does not live my expectations as a practicing breast pathologists. It avoids clear definitions of borderline type lesions which are now being accepted widely (especially atypical lobular and ductal hyperplasias). The language is smooth, easy to follow and is very phylosophical at times: the book might be appreciated by junior residents and some of the...

This review is from: Diagnostic Problems in Breast Pathology: Expert Consult: Online and Print, 1e (Hardcover)
This book has a very concise, yet systematic treatment of breast pathology topics. Each section and chapter begins with a concise introduction and current understanding of the disease entities. The photos in this book are some of the best available. I am a resident in a subspecialty pathology training program. If I find the time to read, which is rare, the book is concise and practical for that purpose. If I am short on time as usual, I find it almost just as helpful flipping through a chapter looking at the photographs and read the legends. However, even senior attendings in my institution find this text useful for quick reference. Highly recommended.

This book does not live my expectations as a practicing breast pathologists. It avoids clear definitions of borderline type lesions which are now being accepted widely (especially atypical lobular and ductal hyperplasias). The language is smooth, easy to follow and is very phylosophical at times: the book might be appreciated by junior residents and some of the pathologists who is not involved into daily breast surgical pathology. Still , the ambitious title does not bring any resolution to the exisitng problems, but aggravates them with the personal views. This book is rather a compendium of personal reflections and not an evidence-based clinical breast pathology. Multidisciplinary aspect of breast pathology is completely missing - there is no patient in the book. This is not unusual for pathology texts in general, in fact, most of pathology books published in 70-80th were of the same style. No news, unfortunately. Though good pics and quality print.
