5.0 out of 5 stars The best imaging anatomy texts - bar none!, September 21, 2007
By
This review is from: Diagnostic and Surgical Imaging Anatomy: Musculoskeletal (Hardcover)
This series of anatomy texts has no peer. Each section outlines the key facts, presents superbly executed graphics in explanation, then proceeds to meticulously demonstrate the fine details and subtleties of imaging anatomy using well-labelled and captioned images from every imaging modality ---from plain radiographs through ultrasound, CT, MR, scintigraphy, and even PET.

Admittedly the three volumes will set you back nearly a $1,000 if you get the e-book option (very worthwhile to avoid lugging the set back and forth from home to work), but nothing else comes close to such completeness and quality.

Strictly an anatomy book, but very good. I use way more than DI orthopedics or stoller. The anatomy is in high detail with short but very useful discussions. Predominantly MRI, but also ultrasound, xray and CT where appropriate. Standard, CT and MR arthrography anatomy as well.

This review is from: Diagnostic and Surgical Imaging Anatomy: Musculoskeletal (Hardcover)
This is not your average anatomy text. This book is organized by anatomic location (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip and pelvis, knee, ankle and foot) and is an easy reference to navigate quickly. An overview of the anatomy, muscles and tendons, ligaments and neurovascular structures head most sections. The Shoulder Section includes arthrographic images. Basic science of the anatomy is also outlined.

Three dimensional renderered computer images to illustrate anatomy sets the standard for texts/atlases. Image quality is superb and the detail of anatomy sets the standard for clinicians and radiologists.
