Own an earlier edition and found this helpful during school,
By Nurse in NY "nurse-ny" (NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Diagnostic Testing & Nursing Implications: A Case Study Approach (Paperback)
Speaking of the earlier third edition, this book was often used during school's nursing care plans. It contained the normal values and discussed the problems involved with the abnormal. Nursing considerations and rationale were included as well as visual aids i.e., photographs of equipment utilized for testing, diagrams and actual pyelograms, charts and EKG strip studies. I found this book highly informative and a good educational tool. I just noted that it was out of print in a more current edition after 2000. Lab values and markers change over the years and certain tests i.e. INR for Coumadin studies are not in my early nineties edition. Thinking changes through the years and updated books are needed as the older editions will not do.
