5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent!
Excelent book! I totally recommend it. I must say i am amaze by the diversity and quality of the work. The different examples of diagrams make this book essential for anybody who works with information design. Great explanations of each project contribute to a better understanding of the desing and makes it more than a look-book. Congratulations for such a nice edition.

I was hoping for valuable visual and procedural references on information design. This is just another vanity piece. Aside from a few moderate exceptions, Diagrams: Innovative Solutions for Graphic Designers is all about decoration over actual information design.

If your sole aim is to dress-up your data, you may find some styles worth lifting. However, if your concern is making complex information usable, there's little to be gained here. Analysis does accompany each piece but, there just isn't much to be said about these selections.

If you don't already own one of your own, skip this book and go pick up one of Edward Tufte's great works:
The Visual Display of Quantitative Information
Envisioning Information
Visual Explanations: Images and Quantities, Evidence and Narrative

Or for those working more directly with the data, this is an indispensable reference as well:
Visualizing Data

Bottom line, skip this one and save the space on the shelf (and your brain) for something better.
