5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cleaner
Borax might be old fashioned, but it is the best cleaner I have every used! And it is all purpose...you can use it in every room for practically every cleaning need including dishes and in your laundry! The nice thing about Borax is that it doesn't have any perfumes but instead naturally deordorizes while it cleans. I have used 20 Mule Team Borax also to remove stains...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not sure!
I've been doing everything possible to restore and keep my white cloths looking white. I've read that the 20 Mule Team Borax would really make a difference. To-date, I've not seen a difference. Am I doing something wrong or does this stuff not work as well as it says?

The nice thing about Borax is that it doesn't have any perfumes but instead naturally deordorizes while it cleans. I have used 20 Mule Team Borax also to remove stains from fabrics effectively. I have also used it instead of harsh cleansers for my sinks, stove, and countertops. Overall, I recommend 20 Mule Team Borax as an economical, higly effective, and natural cleaner.

I've used 20 Mule Team Borax for decades to be safely rid of fleas. I sprinkle it lightly over my carpets after every vacuuming. Walking on the carpet pounds it into the carpet backing. No more costly and toxic dips or sprays since I discovered this. I always have a box handy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great All Around Cleaner, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Dial Corporation 76Oz 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Pretreater
I use this in the dishwasher when I run out of my 7th Generation or Melaleuca. It's 100% safe. Contains no phosphates. I also use it to add to the water to wash my kitchen and bathroom floors. If you need your cleaner to have that "clean" smell, just add some essential oil to it. I've used lemon, tea tree oil, lavendar and eucalyptus. They all smell great and make me want to use the Borax all the time, and why wouldn't you! It's safe around kids and pets.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, it keeps the spiders, centipedes and other pests at bay too. Just sprinkle around your walls in the basement or where ever you have a problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Borax cheaper at Walmart, December 12, 2009
This review is from: Dial Corporation 76Oz 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Pretreater
Call around to your local Walmarts to see which one carries this and you'll save on the shipping, plus it'll be cheaper. I just bought this for $2.98 at my local Walmart.

We do have 8 indoor pets and one got away by tearing the screen in our lanai, returning covered with fleas. Luckily 90% of the living area of our home has hard wood flooring with the exception of one bedroom (carpeted). The Vet. Prescribed Frontline® Plus and suggesting the use of a box of "20 mule team" Borax, for the carpeted area & everyone's bedding. We are flea less in less than a week. I also recommend this product for your washing machine, dishwasher and sinks plus many other suggestions on the box or http://www.purex.com/.

4.0 out of 5 stars Borax - stops insect reproduction and growth, January 4, 2010
This review is from: Dial Corporation 76Oz 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Pretreater
I once spoke to an entomologist about using a Borax ingredient to kill roaches, and such. He, being a specialist, informed me that Borax doesn't kill the insects, but makes them sterile, when consumed. Hence, once the living generation dies, there becomes fewer and fewer because they are unable to reproduce.
The recipe was a combination of Borax, onion, apple - rolled into small balls, and hidden behind furniture. However, this was poisonous to animals. I don't know if it is the Borax which is poisonous, or just the onion. (Onions are deadly poisonous to dogs and cats).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Science Experiments!, February 23, 2009

Make a solution of Borax and Hot Water, pour it into a Mason Jar, suspend an object in the solution using a string and a wooden stick. The crystals form on the object and the string that are in the solution very rapidly so you can "watch" it happen if you are patient. If you use a twist-tie or pipecleaners, you can shape your object into anything and have it be crystal covered. And - you can add food coloring to change the color of your crystals.
Great Activity for rainy days!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely essential! No more musty odor., December 27, 2010

During a conversation with several neighborhood ladies, the subject of laundry problems arose. Towels with a definite UNfresh odor was a common problem. Stepping out of the shower, clean and fragrant, only to dry off with a smelly towel is counterproductive. I researched the issue and found the following advice:
1. Use towels only once or twice. (already doing that)
2. Leave washer door open after removing load, allowing it to air dry. (already doing that)
3. Switch from liquid to powder detergent. (don't ask me why, but it works -- I use HE for my front loading machine)
4. Add borax to the wash.
Borax? That stuff my grandmother used? YES! Why did this stuff go out of style? It's fantastic!
This isn't on the shelves at my regular grocery store, so thank heavens for Amazon.
Addendum: a splash of vinegar in the rinse cycle instead of liquid fabric softener works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Little Product, February 11, 2010
This review is from: Dial Corporation 76Oz 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Pretreater
We didn't know about Borax until our elderly neighbor told us that she used it to clean all of her clothes and her children's clothes (from infancy onward). We had been complaining about the price of baby detergent and when she told us this, we immediately made the switch! It's perfect because it's fragrance and dye free.

It's saving us so much money on baby laundry alone!

And it's so multi-faceted. It can do so much (kill bugs, clean tubs etc) and costs so little!

We've always got a box handy these days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kills ants too!, June 27, 2008
This review is from: Dial Corporation 76Oz 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Pretreater
Borax also makes a great natural ant killer. If you don't want harmful (to people) poisons spayed all over your house, just mix some borax with sugar, add a little water to dissolve them together and place in an old jar with holes punched in the lid. Put a paper towel inside so the ants can crawl in and out again.
