great product - not the same as the spray,

I LOVE this product! I "discovered" it when I had my first child - it got out old stains from hand-me-downs and fresh, new stains. Including the ones I thought were impossible. I've given a bottle to several friends with new babies. There is a Zout spray that isn't worth the bottle it's sold in but the pop-top Zout has always worked great for me. I've only found one or two things that it wouldn't get out. Anyway, that's my 2 cents...

Decades of ZOUT happiness!,

I began using ZOUT stain remover gel long ago, when it was only available to hospital staff to remove stains from their uniforms. Humans have some of the most yucky fluids, and once dry, were impossible to get out of a colored uniform. I remember that I used it long before the product "Shout" appeared on the market (and when it first arrived on the market new, I tried it and found Shout to be a disappointment in comparison to the better product I was already using ZOUT). Years later, it started to show up on the shelves in grocery stores, and I was elated that I would not have to make a separate trip to the uniform store to get it. There is no doubt that it has saved more garments in my lifetime and saved me thousands in garment replacement costs over the years. From simple spills, unknown origin spots, and blood to baby clothes, it has come through like no other product I've found. The gel was the best, and the pop top blue ZOUT container is a watered down version of the original gel, but very effective on so many types of stains. It is a requirement in my laundry room.

My favorite laundry stain remover,

Of all the laundry stain removers on the market today, this is by far the best. It even gets out grease stains that have gone through the hot dryer. And this liquid form by far out-performs the spray.

Zout removes most stains -- blood, grease, grass -- completely. I like the liquid gel much better than the spray. It is easier to treat the stains exactly and it seems stronger than the spray. Too bad it is so hard to find. Hey, Dial, please, please bring it back.

No other stain remover worth spending money on.,

I came across Z'out somewhere in 1984 or 1985 while working as a nurse. I needed to mail order it back then. But became a lifetime user after my first experience using Z'out. I still like the original Z'out gel stain remover I bought all those years ago because every stain came out without scrubbing with the first application and wash, no matter the stain type or material composition. The spray foam stain remover works, but not always on the first application and wash. However, the foam is still better than other brands.
I have removed baby stains of unknown origin from baby clothes bought at garage sales, hospital stains, childhood play stains, car exhaust spatter stains, and blueberry stains, to name a few. With the original Z'out, each of these stains were completely removed with one application, 5-15 minute set, then a single washing cycle appropriate for the fabric. Without any damage to the fabrics. I had a rayon dress that received spilled beverages across the front. This dress was dry clean only. After 2 attempts by the dry cleaners to remove the stains without success, I figured the dress was ruined anyway, so I used Z'out on the old, dry cleaned and pressed stains. They came out!! I cold water washed the dress and wore it for a few more years.

Vintage dress,
This review is from: ZOUT STAIN REMOVER
I have been using the Laundry Stain Remover ZOUT Spray. Just want everyone to know this product is terrific. It has removed so many laundry stains I cannot say enough about the product. However, today was exceptional. I have a vintage childs dress that was worn for a first communion day over 59 years ago. The stains were still on the dress from the party afternoon of that day. The dress was folded and packed away with the stains and all. I sprayed the stains with ZOUT let it sit for a few minutes then hand laundered the dress. I could not believe the results. The stains were all gone and the dress material was not damaged in any way, just as clean as the day it was first wore 59 years ago. Thank you ZOUT !

Goodbye Stains!,

Zout is great. It has actually removed stains that had not only gone through the washer, but also the dryer. Had one shirt I had already ironed when I found a stain. Rubbed some Zout into it, washed it, and it was gone. We won't do laundry without it.

Zout doesn't work,

I tried Zout recently, and it didn't do anything at all to the stain. Also the fabric smelled of solvent that didn't rinse away. I'm surprised that anyone likes this product. I consider it a waste of money. I have used Clorox Stain out laundry pretreat for 15 years, because it worked better than Shout or Spray'n'Wash. So I'm familiar with using pretreats and what they work on. Zout is only marketing hype. Do not waste your time or money on it. I would have given it NO STARS if allowed to.

Product works, but leaves a vomitty smell on treated area,

This product is awful, I really don't get why people like it so much. The scent seems borderline acceptable when you sniff it at the store. However, after you treat a shirt and put it through the wash, the food/color stain may be gone, but the stain that remains is a scent that one can no longer remove. This permanent scent is as if someone is trying to cover up the smell of vomit with fake grape and lavender. It's truly, frighteningly gross. I'm very angry that ZOUT inflicted this product on the marketplace. --> Just to pre-counter anyone who would say I'm a unique 'smeller', I have no known allergies, I'm not a supertaster, nor am I a bloodhound, and I've had another non-relative person smell what I've smelled also. So in other words, I'm not special. Not special like short bus that the scent of zout stain remover rides to school in. At any rate, I have a term for this type of product, within the context of laundry: "poverlaundry". It's because you can smell poor people even more when they are clean because they use the most fake-fragrant, offensive-industrially-perfumed detergent on their clothes. If your clothes smell from detergent as much or more as your designer-imposter old spice, then you might be poor. In conclusion, poor people trade their alcohol vomit for detergent vomit that is clean looking. Thank you I'm here all night. If one were to use a pair of goggles that could see their scent-aura, their clothes would look like pigpen from peanuts cartoon, perpetually emitting a large number of vomitron (tm) particles in every direction, but the product would call this fragrance either 'beach' or 'forest' or 'fresh laundry'. Zout, get with the program. Make an unscented version and because you are putting less into the product, you get to charge double, just like Tide, Arm and hammer and the others do. Until then, I'll spare myself the vomit and just throw my clothes away if I can't get the stain out. This is preferable to staining my clothes with said vomitron particles. |
