No. You have to have an AT&T signal to place phone calls.

Thank you for the info. Guess I'll stick with my curve on t-mobile as the minutes are free with a broadband connection on wifi.

Wow, that is a really nice feature. How much is the monthly charge? I would rarely have minutes charged to my account if that were the case because I am hardly ever without wifi.

Data is $30 per month. You can't dial through wifi if that's what you were asking though.
