great album,

I have always been puzzled as to why ONE WAY RECORDS never released a remastered version of this..along with the other albums (and they did a remarkable job, I will say)
If you are wanting the complete cd collection by the original lineup...you would best look no further than the ONE WAY versions..(with the exception of the "cocktail" disc)...but I have to warn you in advance...they are very hard to come by and dont go cheap....after you hear them...you'll know why. Am sure that at some point...somebody will buy the rights to the entire catalogue and remaster the whole damn thing...but till that time.....

My older brother had a cassette of this record in the late 1980's. I liked the record, but was not able to find it when I had the money. I finally got this CD a few weeks ago. What a great album. From the hit songs; "Help Is On Its Way" and "Happy Anniversary" to the less popular songs "Home On Monday", this is just a great record from a very good Pop Rock Group. The only drawback for me with this CD is the fact that "Sleeper Catcher" is a better record.

Diamantina Cocktail was the first album by an Australian group to sell a million copies in the USA.The beautiful 7 minute ballad "Another Runway" is worth the price of the album. Be sure to listen for the moment in the song where a tuba is merged musically with a bass guitar that then explodes into possibly the best bass solo of all time.It is superb and the combination of vocals and music makes this song a classic. The album also has songs such as "Help Is On It's Way" and "Broke Again".This Little River band cd is well worth the money.

"Diamantina Cocktail" #49 (1977).
Led by lead vocalist Glenn Shorrock, LRB's 2nd album is a very nice 70's album. You get, the classic pop rocker "Help Is On Its Way" #14, "Days On The Road", a smooth number with great flute by Graham Lyall. The strutting "Everyday Of My Life", good vocal harmonies, the excellent "Home On Monday" and the great vocal harmonies of "Happy Anniversary" #16.

I got this on Cassette when I was 15. I bought this cd 4 years ago because the tape didn't always play right. GLENN SHURROCK'S voice sounds very similar to STEELY DAN singer DONALD FAGEN or STEPHEN STILLS, and the band that the three-part harmony very similar to CROSBY STILLS NASH AND YOUNG. Plus, I can't not and will not understand any of their albums are neither available on cd anymore, nor remastered. When I first heard HAPPY ANNIVERSARY on the radio when I was 13, I thought it was by STEELY DAN because the voices and guitar riffs sounded like them. I also love the acoustic ballad HOME ON MONDAY that features the quiet tone of DAVID BRIGGS' lead guitar, THE INNER LIGHT that features the piano riffs and DAVID'S lead and slide guitar riffs, BROKE AGAIN with the piano intro, organ, and sax, and the acoustic rocker TAKE ME HOME. The first song HELP IS ON THE WAY with the harmony guitars is good. I love the sound of GEORGE MCARDLE blasting clear tone bass guitar and DAVID BRIGGS electrifying lead guitar throughout the album. On the other hand, I did not realized that their first lead guitar player RICK FORMOSA played lead guitar on DAY ON THE ROAD, ANOTHER RUNAWAY, AND EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE until I bought this cd. A mellotron would have defintiely sound better than the orchestra. I also love the way how they explain what A DIAMANTINA COCTAIL is and how it is made on the liner notes.
