This item is a quality piece. My wife is very happy with it. At first, I thought the shipping and handling charges were a little "ouchy" for the price of the item, but after a brief explanation by the vendor of his costs, the charges are reasonable.

"Diamond" is plastic,

This item works well, but the cover piece is plastic. I thought from the picture that it was glass--I had previously bought one made of crystal, so I was disappointed. Luckily, it is not glued on hard and comes right off. The underlying metal isn't bad looking. No wonder this was less expensive.
