Product Description

Diamond hazelnuts, shelled, 10-ounce bags (pack of 6) and the filbert are considered the same nut by some; cousins by others. In general, hazelnuts are larger and mainly harvested in the United States, in Oregon and Washington, while the filbert grows primarily in Turkey, Italy and Spain. The hazelnut has a round, smooth shell. Hazelnuts are high in fiber and vitamins and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamin E. Like many other nuts, they are also rich in proteins and monounsaturated fats.

Great Value! Same quantity (60 oz) of Bob's Red Mill toasted hazelnuts (on Amazon) is $20.00 higher! Plus, you can get the Amazon Subscribe & Save price on these! Keep them frozen up to a year and they are real easy to toast in the oven yourself. It's hard to find natural, raw hazelnuts, and Diamond brand is the highest quality. For baking, raw nuts are best so they don't get overcooked and bitter. Recommended.

Opened a pack and roasted them on the day of package arrival. Fresh, right? Not at all! 1 in 3 taste stale (the expiration date reads Oct 2011). These are going right to trash can!

Amazon service was great though. Ordered on Sunday, arrived Wednesday. Packing was impeccable.
