5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dual DVI solution for budget gaming
I have only owned this card for a few days, but it was easy to install and set up. It seems to be producing good color and text without any need to modify the display settings (unlike my previous card, which was always tough to calibrate with my LCD monitor). But it comes with a comprehensive configuration tool that will let you do everything from adjusting brightness...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as pictured
I paid almost $20.00 more than what I could have gotten it for on Newegg because I thought it had a HDMI connection. It came with an svideo out instead. Not the card pictured.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is not one with an HDMI port, March 23, 2009

This card is good for someone who wants a mid range graphics solution, if all your looking for is HD TV. However, the picture is deceiving, it shows that the card has a native HDMI port, but when I got it, all it had was DVI, VGA, & S-Video. I had to use a DVI-HDMI adapter. So if you want native HDMI port DON'T get this card.

1.0 out of 5 stars Diamond labeled and packaged the wrong product, January 23, 2010

I also experienced the same problem noted by other reviewers: the item I received was NOT a Diamond 4650PE1G.

I looked on Diamond's web site (just Google the model number and you can find it) and confirmed that the product I received was NOT a Diamond 4650PE1G, but was instead a Diamond 4650PE1GHP.

The 4650PE1GHP has a DVI port, HDMI port, and a VGA port; the 4650PE1G has two DVI ports and an S-Video port. As clearly described on Diamond's web site, both models have "dual-link" DVI ports, but the 4650PE1G has two of them -- in other words, "Dual DVI" means two ports.

Here is the strange part: the card and the box are labeled "4650PE1G," even though the product is clearly NOT the same product described on Diamond's web site.

My conclusion is that Diamond screwed up in both the labeling and packaging of this product. Amazon and its customers are the unfortunate victims of this error.

I returned the card to Amazon and am awaiting a replacement -- hopefully, a real 4650PE1G instead of the incorrectly labeled and packaged 4650PE1GHP.

I have only owned this card for a few days, but it was easy to install and set up. It seems to be producing good color and text without any need to modify the display settings (unlike my previous card, which was always tough to calibrate with my LCD monitor). But it comes with a comprehensive configuration tool that will let you do everything from adjusting brightness to upping the clock speed. I don't do a lot of gaming, so I can't really speak to its abilities there, but I did want something that could handle gaming graphics if necessary, and I have no doubt it will perform just fine with a full 1GB of dedicated graphics memory.

If you're not a gamer, buying a video card is kind of confusing. I just grabbed this one at a B&M retailer because it was PCI-Express, it could handle HD video (in case I ever put a Blu-Ray player in the PC), and it had two digital outputs for a good price.

Note that this is not the product in the picture. I've seen people complain about that on several review sites. This is the product in the title. It has two DVI video outputs and one S-Video out. DVI is the same signal as HDMI, so a simple cheap adapter will give you HD output to any device you need (I think it might have come with a DVI-to-Component adapter, but I'm not sure).

4.0 out of 5 stars HDMI port IS included, January 20, 2010

after reading the reviews, i ordered this card regardless of the claims that it did not have a built in HDMI port. i was pleasantly surprised to find that it IS the card pictured. installed in about 2 minutes, runs direct x 10 games fine. tested Borderlands, Dawn Of War 2, and Farcry 2. Driver installation went perfectly on my Vista x64 system.

good card, a little cheaper than in stores, and better than the comparable nvidia.

i like it. i only wish that the free shipping didn't take 2.5 weeks.

For the price, this was a decent card until about 2 weeks ago when I had a Blue Screen of death in my work computer (no gaming). After some trouble shooting as well as switching this card to other machines AND taking it in to a repair company (I paid for bench tests), it's certain the card is creating the problem.

I got 1 year, 9.5 months out of the card. I've emailed Diamond to see if there is any replacement, repair process and will update this review with any results. I don't know what the warranty period is so I'm inquiring about off warranty options most likely.

I expected to get 3 years or more out of a video card I only use for work; and the entire computer for that matter. There's no reason the card should have fried. It's in a system I use for work only, having it drive an additional 2 monitors with dual DVI output (different from photo). The computer is on a surge protector and until recently was on an APS backup power supply as well. With the card removed, I'm able to function perfectly now with onboard DVI and VGA (2 monitors now down from 4).

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Cost Effective, September 21, 2010

I was looking for a cheap mid range card to play games like Team Fortress 2, L4d (1 and 2), and Fallout 3. This card can run all three perfectly on high settings.

I haven't had a single major problem with this card. It was easy to install and remains cool under stress.

I know for sure my next video card is gonna be another ATI such as this one.

I upgraded from a stock card that came with my Dell. This card runs the games I want to play smoothly, plus it was a boost from my old card. I would recommend this card.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, May 4, 2010

I've only used ATI graphics cards, and this one is the best yet. Easy to install. Looks great. I use a 32" tv for my display, which is great because I can either use HDMI or VGA to plug in. My tv is a 720p, but if you use the VGA cable you can still get 1080p out of the video card to display, it looks amazing. A really great investment

3.0 out of 5 stars Two Heads Are Better Than One, December 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Diamond PCIE 1GB GDDR2 Video Card 4650PE1G (Personal Computers)
This card was purchased to replace a dual-output ATI card (one DVI, one VGA) that had died an honorable death after four years of service in a dusty environment. I use my computer mainly for internet browsing, processing photographs, and editing tasks: I don't need blazing speed for games, but want two screens with the sharpest possible text and images. I was happy to find a reasonably-priced card with dual DVI ports. Imagine my disappointment on opening the box from Amazon to find a card with the same configuration (one DVI, one VGA, one S-Video) as my old card. But, my computer was broken, and for my usage, the difference in perceived output between the two cables is probably imaginary.
I don't have any quarrel with Diamond or ATI or Amazon: they are all competent outfits. Since there is an Amazon-verified label next to this review, it seems to me that I did order a product with the reasonable expectation that it would have two DVI ports. Probably you will get the right product, but in case Amazon got a mislabeled lot or some robot mispulls your order, too, you might need to do a return to straighten things out. Probably, that is what I should have done instead of writing this lame comment. But sometimes, life is just too short.
