5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent App June 25, 2012
I bought this app when I was diagnosed with cancer of the Larynx. The app clearly pronounces what I type and now I can communicate with my friends and family. I can not talk with my voice again so I purchased this app.

4.0 out of 5 stars Read the product info! October 15, 2012
For those who are giving this just one star because it won't work on their Kindle (complaining that the Kindle "has no mic")... you might note that this app says what you write. That means it must, by definition, be able to SAY it. In other words, if you have the Kindle Fire, you're good to go; if you have one of the other Kindles, please don't rate the developer poorly because the application he developed wasn't designed for your Kindle. Instead, maybe you should ask yourself why you bought an app you clearly couldn't use. But give the poor developer a break!

Load right away. Easy to change voice and type in what you want to say. My son picked up how to use it right away. Sure is alot cheaper and lighter than his dynavox. Great tool that is now very portable as well.

I just had tonsil surgery. this app has really helped me communicate with my mom. she had a hard time reading my writing. now I can just speak it. I tried the a free app but was bombarded with lewd ads. this is well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars So real October 3, 2012
Though there are many Types and Talk apps available for free download, I had to pay for this. Well, now I realize it is far more superior to the software I have downloaded. This voice clarity is great and easily understandable unlike others that speak like Robots. This one is awesome and can speak slow or fast. I tried this when I had bad throat and it communicated my words without any misinterpretation. There are three speed levels. I am glad that I got this app though I had to spend a dollar on this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful for the disabled November 13, 2012

We got this for my daughter's kindle. She has cerebral palsy and is sometimes difficult to understand. This has been easy for her to use and she is excited that the voice is very understandable. She has a similar program that she uses on a laptop at school and loves that now she's got something to easily take wherever she goes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly for me! February 15, 2013
Verified Purchase
I decided to upgrade my Kindle and bought a Kindle Fire primarily for this type of app. i have significant trouble with people understanding me when I speak. My speech therapist had me try the app on her Insight. I was nervous after seeing the reviews saying it doesn't work with the Fire. No problems here and it has reduced my stress and frustrations while speaking. I can type well but speaking, not so much. If you know people that have stopped talking because they are frustrated and don't like repeating-- get this app--whatever the tablet. You'll both love it.
