Out of nowhere, my daughter got into Ghostbusters. She had never seen the movies or the cartoon, but somehow, she knew what they were based on the logo. Even more strange, she thinks that Slimer is just the cutest thing right now, so we got her this bank. She got super excited immediately upon seeing it. Yeah, it's more for the 'adult collector', but this is a great bank/toy for all ages. I'm just jealous that I didn't have one when I was little!

Slimer is made of a good, soft vinyl that won't crack or break if it falls from a shelf or anything. The sculpt is fantastic, and anyone who's seen Ghostbusters even once will recognize who this is. NECA did a great job with the paint too, which based on my experience buying figures by them, is rare. They didn't go nuts with paint, so no detail is spared. The slot for money is on the back, and there's a standard circular closure on the bottom that you twist to pull out and access the money. This is a great, sturdy bank, and makes for a good display piece too. The glow in the dark feature is a nice touch, and it only takes about 10 minutes of being under a light to get the full effect once you turn the lights off.

My only minor complaint is the price. But when you consider that most of NECA's standard action figures cost close to the same amount, and are much smaller, it's not as bad. Something also worth mentioning is that yes, the arms are a bit flimsy- they tend to break around the elbow area, but it's nothing some good super glue can't fix.

There's not much more to say- any fan of Ghostbusters could do a lot worse than picking one of these up. Get the Stay Puft one too while you're at it!

Ok. So far all the reviews of this Slimer bank have been written by people who claim that they bought this bank for a four year old...Are you people that afraid of being labeled a nerd? Who is going to know or care anyway? You bought the Slimer bank for your adult self and you love it!
This is a great bank and the sculpt is spot on. Anyone who grew up with the Ghostbusters will enjoy this piece. It is sturdy and well built. The paint does not chip off unless you beat or chew the thing like a four year old. If you are between the ages of twenty four and thirty four, are a big Ghostbusters fan, or a fan of 80's films and pop culture, then this is for you! If you are four you probably can't read this and you have never heard of Slimer or the Ghostbusters anyway. Try driveway chalk or playdough---it's a lot cheaper and you can actually play with it.

I purchased this for a 4 year old and he has loved it. The paint does tend to come off with rough play, but I expected this since it is more of a collectible. He looks great and identical to the slimer in the film.

I purchased the Slimer coin bank for my four year old son. He is an avid Ghostbusters fan and absolutely loves this toy. He doesn't even pay attention that it is a piggybank. It is vey well constructed and looks as close to the Slimer ghost from the movie as possible. I highly recommend purchasing this toy.

There is not a lot of Ghostbusters stuff out there and we bought this for my son (along with the marshmallow man one) who likes Ghostbusters. One arm broke off pretty quickly without rough play and another arm broke a while later. It is kinda cool because it's not a miniature and the kids can play with it like Slimer's actual size or use it as a bank

From the description, thought it was "Glow in the Dark"..it's not! Slimer Bank arrived packaged in plastic bag only, no box, etc. It was a Birthday gift for 5 year old who loves Ghostbusters, so it was a big hit and makes for a cool piggy bank. Made a theme of it, by getting the Ghostbusters costume to go with it.

This toy is so cute. I bought it for my nephew and the arm fell off. I tried glue etc. He is only 3 and knows that the arm is gone. This product is worth 5.00 not the 20+ Glue won't hold it. weird attachment.
