i have to agree 100% with Elliot: this is far & away the best Thor action figure i have ever seen.

a lot of this has to do with that fact that the look is based upon the Olivier Coipel design, which i will admit i love, but it's really more about out-and-out quality, and this fellow's got that in spades.

quite a looker if left free of action upon your favorite bookshelf (like mine), but also tough (and just plain cool) enough to hold his own in a Legends vs. Selects brawl (like my buddy's, as his kids LOVE to play this game about twice an hour). : )

while the Select sculpt size is a wee bit bigger than the Legends scale, with Thor (much like the Hulk), dude, the difference actually makes the figure all the better. (i placed him alongside my Legends Avengers figures and the look is killer, man!)

in conclusion, this figure recently bumped Legends Colossus from my overall no. 1 spot, man, and that alone says it all, man!

This is a GREAT toy....for an adult or teenager. My husband has, and always will be, a lover of Marvel Comics and it's heros AND villians. This are GREAT for being enjoyed by an adult. It comes with a gorgeous stand and the cape is removeable. The detail is fabulous. The toy, however, is top heavy and has a hard time standing on the stand without falling over.

I would not suggest purchasing this item for someone/a child that actively likes to play with his action figurines. The joints are difficult to move. The outfit is not structured to be put on the figurine. It comes with tiny pieces of plastic weapons. They are only designed to move in very specific ways.

This model (toy) is specifically a "Marvel Select" toy. Marvel has many different types of action figures. WITHOUT a DOUBT, they have AWESOME actions figures and toys! Check out some of the other models and save these for the older fans.

Of course, this is just my .02 cents! :)

I have to agree that this is an excellent incarnation of Thor!

I have a massive collection of Marvel Legends scale figures and this Thor sits among them.

The added height of the Marvel Select works very, very well, and he is about the same height, maybe just a tiny bit taller, than the BAF Ares.

I also happen to prefer his new duds to the original, more traditional, Thor costume.

Highly recommend to any fan of Marvel Legends, Marvel Select, Thor or Avengers.

Oh yea, it makes a great solid toy for kids too :-)

This is an excellent action figure as far as detail goes. Definitely the best looking Thor action figure out there. Although, I was highly disappointed in the durability, or I should say craftsmanship of it. I opened it, excited to put him in an awesome pose for my shelf next to my computer... and one of the legs snaps right off. So, after I cool off, after almost putting my fist through a wall. I start to look at where it snapped. Well where the leg should pivot or move, it was completely filled in with paint. So no matter what, if someone tried to bend the leg it would of broke regardless. If it wasn't for that, I would give this thing a 5 star rating across the board. I would recommend this, but be wary of the joints, and check it out before trying to move and bend it around. Most likely, given my luck, I probably just got a faulty action figure, and the majority of people probably wouldn't have this problem. Just thought I would let you know. I just feel like I kinda wasted 20 bucks on this thing... I glued it, and it stands and looks totally bad ass... it just makes me angry. I would of bought a statue if I didn't want it to be posable.

this figure is beautiful, the detail is awesome. really couldn't beat the price on this toy either.not a rare piece at all, but still a great figure

They did a really good job with the details on this figure. The sculpt is straight from Coipel's vision of Thor. It has a great Asgardian castle base, too. The only problem with the figure is poseability. His head doesn't move much because of his hair, and he doesn't move much at the hips due to the skirt. But he is otherwise another great Diamond Select figure. I don't think he would hold up well if this was bought for any kids, though.

When I first saw this figure i was hesitant to get i,I had never purchased a marvel select figure before but let me tell you it was worth every penny, quality detail good price and fits in well with marvel legends.

I just received this figure today and I have to say, it is the best Thor figure I have ever seen. Those of you who are digging Thor's latest costume design will love this figure. It is an exact replica of the comic counterpart. The articulation on this figure is excellent, with a good balance of sculpt and movement. The paint is perfect as well. I can't recommend this enough.

This guy is tall, tough and dangerous... and the chracter he represents is too! This figurine is heavy, durable, and very realistic. Great detail and wonderful collectible value. If you are debating on buying this or some other little toy, GET THIS ONE!!!
