I find all Diamond Star Trek Ships have been 4 or 5 in the quality fit form and function department. As for the screw....find the right size bit and it works exactly like it is supposed to.
The only inconvenience with this Toy was the quantity of wire wraps knotted everywhere you are not looking. Be careful when removing the packaging as the wires are thin and easily overlooked.......with that said, it is packaged well.
Choice of stands...."flat feet" as shown and they supply the normal wobbly stand as an alternate......"Flat Feet" works good for me giving 'the toy' a place under my other ships.
The "wings" still can be positioned in low, medium and up positions just like the other BOP.
Looks to be the same paint and mold as the other Bird Of Prey....Changs ship. Just a different sound chip. All the lights seem to come on for each quote while only some of them lit up on Changs ship......Hey, don't need much of an excuse to buy a new ship!
Sounds are from Star Trek IV, The Voyage Home.
Standard Cloak, warp, transporter, disruptor, blaster sounds, a few Kirk quotes, Scotty "There be Whales here",.....two different Whale sounds even.
If they can make a BOP this good.........I am imagining a D7 Battlecruiser on the drawing boards of Art Asylum and Diamond Select! Drop the D7 and Reliant in spring 2015.....please.

This is incredibly well done. I am a pretty big fan of Diamond Select Star Trek ships, but I think this might be their best offering so far. The detail level is amazingly accurate. The wings can shift from attack to cruise mode and back with manual adjustments. The landing gear is interchangeable with a smooth belly plate. The lights from the torpedo tube and disruptors just might blind someone they are so strong- so aim carefully. The quality note comes from the fact that the lights that are that strong doesnt show through the painted plastic. This was a problem in some of their other ships. The voices for the ship are also better than the enterprise offerings.

The Klingon ship is the best toy and a geat looking and detailed model of all the diamond select star trek ships. It seems more durable and child friendly and the moving wings are a good addition and they are sold and not cheap of flimsy. Nothing about this ship is cheap of flimsy. I own 2 of the ships, the HMS bounty and the one base on The Undiscovered Country. The HMS bounty version includes stand and landing gear which makes it better of the two the downside being the sound clips are from the "In Search of Whales" movie. which includes whale sounds. It is ok but I prefer the sounds from the other ship which the sound clips are from Undiscovered country but that ship does not have the landing gear, only the stand. the landing gear makes that model a better toy for children (mine just sit in a display case but the option to have landing gear or stand I think is great). Is the model perfect? No, there is some light bleed through around the rear engine seam that goes around the tail section but other than that the lighting is well confined. With the Enterprise -A and -D being reintroduced Nov-Dec of 2014, it is a good time to get at least of of these for your kid or for your collection.

A great model and a nice companion to the High Definition Enterprise. An impressive display piece for a reasonable price. The lights are vivid and bright (green for the disruptors, red for the photon torpedo tube), but not as impressive overall as the Enterprise, because the three forward lights are quite small (the aft exhaust port also lights up red). It would have been nice to have added some small accent lights under the wings to show off a bit more of the ship.

I do not care about the sound bites on the various Art Asylum models, but Kirk's line, "Everyone remember where we parked" is a classic from Star Trek IV.

All of their ships have been excellent. The details, and finish, the lights, everything. EXCEPT the stands. I had to hang my enterprise because the cheap plastic that attaches to the top of the display, and connects to the enterprise, broke in half. All of the stands, while simple and stylish, are not very well built. I almost snapped the entire stand apart on this one while trying to fit it in the base. THERE IS A SPLIT RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE! ON PURPOSE!

This ship exceeded my expectations! Solidly built. The wings have a great click-click to them and really stay in place in a variety of positions. The detail of the model itself and the paint job is A+. Plus it has a lot of great sound clips from ST IV. No problems with the stand either, it's not perfect but I don't feel like it's going to topple from my shelving unit. Overall very pleased!

This is the best bird of prey I've ever seen. Best detailed of the Star Trek art asylum line of ships. I displayed mine with the landing gear down rather than use the display stand . The landing gear may not be 100% screen accurate , but still look good and are amazingly stable. HMS Bounty looking hand painted on the bottom of the ship cracks me up. Sound chip has great sound bits from The Voyage Home
