I received this ship today and it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It's the largest of all the Art Asylum/Diamond Select ships I have.
It's got about 6 or so sounds/voice effects from the show and it even makes sounds when you remove/connect the saucer section from the main body. The lighting effects are great. They are very bright...from the nacelles to the deflector dish. There's even a button you can press to activate the lights only, although it would have been nice if you didn't have to keep it depressed to keep them on (a toggle would have been nice). It's also includes two display stands. One for the main ship and another if you want to display the ship with the saucer separated (one for the main body and one for the saucer). If you displaying the main ship the small stand nicely hides away in the larger stand...a nice touch. Overall, it's a great ship. It's a must have for any Star Trek collector. It's the best representation of this ship I've seen so far. I highly recommend it.

While the TNG-era version of the Enterprise isn't my personal favorite from a "style" standpoint, it's probably the best thought-through starship design ever to see the screen (thanks to Andrew Probert, Rick Sternbach and a few others). The "All Good Things..." version of the ship is actually a major improvement on the design, as far as I'm concerned... giving the ship a sense of balance which was the main stylistic "defect" that I always felt was there for the TNG-era ship. It makes wonderful sense, and looks terrific.
I've seen a few garage-kit mods, but never wanted to spend the time to make one of the, and there was a "Playmates" version of this which was pretty cheesy, a few years back. But this is the first really well-done version I've seen. And, in fact, this version is actually slightly nicer than the "regular" version of the ship available from the same manufacturer (particularly in regards to the neck... there are painted windows on this one, while they were left out of the "standard" version). The sounds are terrific, the magnetic "separation" feature is very nicely implemented... this is a terrific model, and tough enough to also be a terrific toy.

This is by far the best ship AA has done. The detail it has its very very good better then I have seen in the others I was not expecting so much detail. As for some reviews I have read you can keep the lights on they do stay on. if you press the button on the star drive section all the way down it will click and stay on just be careful when u do it while it's on the stand you could add allot of weight and break the stand and then you press it all the way down again to turn off.the sounds are from the show but its not loud at all.
but it is not without its faults one if it falls on the floor it's done for its very heavy compare to some of the other AA toys, and very BIG. So if it falls from anywhere that's higher than 4 feet it's done for. So make sure you keep it somewhere where it won't fall or if the base breaks it won't have far to travel... the base stands are the same as the others so don't move it around allot cause I have the others enterprise's and all the stands I have to had glued back so try not to take it out of its stand allot, and be very careful when doing so. When you take out the battery cover be careful because you need to pry it out with a flat head screw after you take out the screw. the instructions are a little confusing cause it looks like they used the ones from the other enterprise not the ALL good things enterprise so it's a little confusing it's like they took the box from the original and put the ALL good things into this one and slapped on some stickers. But the instructions they use for the saucer section is from the original while the star drive is from the all good things. if you collect the ships then you must add this one to your collection.

This newest starship toy from Diamond Select Toys is rather awesome. It's the best one so far to date. The sound effects are a little muffled, more quiet than I would have liked. Other than the light switch being touchy as far as turning the lights on and off for the warp nacelles, the deflector dish and the impulse engines and the bridge this ship is quite detailed.
DST does it again!

I have almost all the Art Asylum Enterprise releases and I must say this is the best one of them. I bought this version of the Enterprise a few weeks ago. This ship is huge and looks awesome displayed. With the light on of which is a seprate button this ship looks alot better. The voice chip in this ship is Admiral Rikers voice so it gives this ship a nice little uniqueness to it. This ship can also seperate the saucer from the drive section due to some very high powered magnets that hold the two ship parts together. There are also sperate stands for both parts of this ship when the parts are split up. This ship is worth the money to say the least. Also with the ship being in a limited production number that makes it better. Also on another note the problem with Art Asylums normal Enterprise D has been fixed. The neck of the ship has had the window decals put on this release. The normal Enterprise D did not have these decals and as a result alot of people {including myself} were unhappy with this blaring detail that was left off. Like I said this is the best release so far and worth the money.

This was our son's favorite Christmas gift. He is a big fan of the more recent Star Trek series, especially Star Trek Enterprise and Voyager. This gift came as a complete surprise and he was so proud to get it. He loves the lighting feature but does not care for the speaking and thinks it's a bit "lame". Be careful removing the ship from it's package. The packaging included several of the typical tie on wires, and they were tough to remove. They were cris-crossed over the ship and when my son was removing them one of the ties caught on the tiny center piece on the top of the dome and it snapped off. He was quite disturbed about this until we glued the piece back on. We also had to immediately replace the batteries to get the light up features working.
Overall, this is a very impressive replica of the Enterprise and my son is very proud to have it!

Really nice replica. Very detailed and large. Better than I expected! This is the heaviest Enterprise model and could use a more heavy duty stand. You need to be careful when placing the ship on the stand's mounting ball, however, you can balance the ship pretty easy on the stand supplied. If you are a fanatic for collecting these ships, this is one that you will be very satisfied with.

I just bought the AGT Enterprise D. Never was much of a fan of TNG D, but since I'm a DC-10 (a jet with three engines for those not aviation savvy) crew dawg I just had to have a starship with three engines. That said weather you're a fan or not, I assure you that when you get this model in your hand it will grow on you fast (so much so that I have to get the two engine version now to play out formation departures from low Earth orbit).
As said previously, for the money this model is big and very well detailed. And if you intend to play with it as you take imaginary journeys around the cosmos, then you will like that it's sturdy enough to hold as you twirl in circles flying at warp speed. While it's an inch or so longer than the playmates 2009 Enterprise, it's twice as wide and heavy with far superior detailing. And if you get it, the model comes with three stand support holes for displaying the saucer and engineering sections separated or the as a complete ship. Personally, I would recommend throwing out the plugs to cover unused stand support holes because you may not get them back out...

All Good Things Enterprise!!
The third Nacelle looks AWESOME! The detail is pretty awesome for a lower tier ship like this.... I was impressed by how model like this DS ship is.... I was instantly transformed into a little kid when seeing how awesome of a display piece this is.... The nacelles light up, and it looks pretty cool if it's dark enough to see them... but don't fret, the lights are a thing that you will do once or twice before you display this piece in your most prominent display position.... A WORTHY SHOWPIECE!! Any Trek fan NEEDS this NOW..... it's rare AND awesome.... I guarantee you won't be able to find this ship in a month or 2... and if you do, it'll be like [...] bucks (like I saw someone on ebay selling it for) order now and save yourself from RIDICULOUS ebay prices. Totally worth it and awesome detail... my highest recommendation.... 5 stars! |
