5.0 out of 5 stars engrossing, entertaining, and enlightening, September 10, 1998
By A Customer
I have really enjoyed this book. I know Ms. Maxwell also writes as Eliz. Lowell, but those books can't compare to the density of the Maxwell books. As a graduate gemologist who has studied diamonds and colored stones, I found this book to be authentic without being boring. The characters seem almost real-super heroes-but with just the right touch of uniqueness. There is adventure, romance, and a well-developed plot to sustain one's interest. I just wish Ms. Maxwell would write more of these types of books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Diamond Tiger shines..., November 3, 2000

I read this book many years ago, it was one of the first of Ann Maxwell's (aka. Elizabeth Lowell)that I had read and it's still one of my favorites. I've read it four times. Her characters are very well drawn, the dialogue is crisp, plenty of action and it is romantic without being mushy. It is a "romance" book I think a man would enjoy. I would also recomend Ann Maxwell's "Tell Me No Lies". <Ree-views>

4.0 out of 5 stars A well-woven plot with plenty of atmosphere, September 16, 2003
By
Elizabeth Lowell is brilliant at writing about atmosphere - I could almost feel the sweat pouring off my body and the claustrophobia of the tunnels. Her characters here are very likeable and you are rooting for them all the way.

I really enjoyed this book with the action and romance that doesn't quit. She's an admirable heroine and he's the complex hero that's worth waiting for...sigh...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, December 3, 1998
This is my favorite, the attention to research and detail is without compare. The Maxwells are excellent and I'll buy any book with their names on it. Thanks for hours of great reading!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ultimate in Adventure Romance, May 21, 2011
By
Just reread The Diamond Tiger, my copy is really worn. But so worth it. The vivid description of the Australian Outback makes it feel like you're there. I truly enjoyed learning about diamonds and the gem business even though it takes up a fair portion of the beginning. The romance is outstanding. The actions of the hero at the end are the most selfless and will make you absolutely ache with joy for the heroine. I highly recommend this book.

Ms. Maxwell is a very impressive author. When reading her books, they are very difficult to put down. Her sense of adventure and style exploring the gem mines of the outback combined with her mythical prose not only entertains but also enthralls! She is a very good read!
