I've engraved my phone number on a lot of small, expensive, easily lost items such as cameras and mp3 players. It writes almost as quickly and clearly as I could manage with a felt-tipped pen. With a light touch I can lightly etch the metal. It also works well on plastics, such as remote car keys. I've only used the tip that was installed but it's nice to have a couple of extras. The peace of mind is worth the modest cost.

The motor burnt itself out during standard use, well before I had a chance to use the 2 extra bits that shipped with it. If you need a very cheap light use engraver then this may be fine for you, but if you plan to use it with any regularity then definitely go buy the larger and significantly better constructed Dremel engraver. This little made in china engraver just will not last very long at all.

We've etched our names on cameras, calculators, cell phones, etc. with this pen and it's a handy dandy little device that really works.

When I took iy out of the box it was wasy to use. Ot works like a pen, just write with it!

I purchased this to mark all of my tools at work so that they do not get lost...So far, I have etched on both metal and plastic, and it works just fine!

I purchased the Engraver pen from Jack's Tool Shed and rec'd it very fast. They packaged it carefully and at a reasonable price. I would order from this store again.
