This chain is really just for basic riding and old school rebuilds. It will stretch and then eventually break (give it 6 months of hard racing). One of the chain links snapped in half off the gate - took my leg muscles a while to recover. Otherwise this is a reasonably priced chain just to have a drive train. You will need a chain link breaker to knock off about 3-6 links depending on your sprocket/chain rings sizes, but i was expecting to do that anyway.

Got the chrome chain. Looks more silver. Not like it blings bright chrome but it does stand out a bit.

I bought the black and chrome chain for my beach cruiser. The chrome isn't actually chrome, it's just silver. I could easily see that from the picture but just in case you are looking for shiny chrome you won't get that.
I have about 200 miles on this chain, and so far it's working great. It's actually holding up better than the chain that came with the bike. At 200 miles I had already experienced a much greater amount of stretching with the OEM chain than I have so far with this replacement. As mentioned in other reviews you'll need an inexpensive chain breaking tool. This will be the case for pretty much any chain you get, because bikes come with different sprocket sizes. You may get lucky, and happen to have right set up for the length chain, but it's highly unlikely. TL;DR- I highly recommend this chain

chain is holding up well on my single speed cruiser. Like another review said, its more of a silver color than chrome, but it does stand out and look nice still.

I thought I was getting an all black chain since the discription said "Black" but it doesn't say that on the box. The box reads "Black and Chrome." The chain is black but the links are chrome. I'm not wasting my time returning item but its really is disappointing when your trying to build an all black bike.

This says BMX chain so assumed that it would be he perfect size for the adult sized bmx bike which i believe is 20". Because of my stupid assumption I was late for school! <_<
The chain is about 10 chains longer than it is supposed to be, so YOU WILL NEED 'CHAIN TOOL'. I bought one from a small bike shop for $6 and this tool allows you to push out the pins that joins the chain so you can shorten it to the appropriate size. Its kind of a hassle to put the chain on if you make it the exact length as opposed to lets say 1 chain part larger but thats with all bmx chains. chain is great quality, after all its a Diamondback =) |
